First time EVER writing a negative review. I am against them but wow I am in disbelief over my experience. 30 + years in this industry and owner of a restaurant. A lukewarm welcome didn’t phase me- I get it. Handed a dinner menu and excited to try a specialty. Not told at that time when handed a menu we couldn’t eat there. Then told we couldn’t event though a regular was eating a meal next to us. Said he could because he is a regular and it was early. We are the ONLY PEOPLE in the entire room, the entire time! And way to make first -timers in the area feel welcome. Still empty when we left an hour later. I understand rules - but common sense and customer experience should prevail in this situation. We were respectful and they just stopped engaging. Incredibly disappointed. This is saying a lot in all our years of trying amazing family owned business in the metro. I am just sick. We battled ice covered roads and we were treated so poorly.

Ranchero or Webster for Fish is a must visit!! The fish on Friday is one visit but really the gems are withing a menu of homemade dressings, side dishes like red cabbage and saurkraut. The Swedish meatballs served with Spaetzle are incredible! The pork snitzel is great and the beef stroganoff melts in your mouth. Yes I tried it all in one night. They have a menu but the specials are what they have of the 8 entrees, usually 4 but they can run out. This German-Swiss family owned restaurant serves the best. Tike moves slower here so take a break and wait a minute as the staff work really hard to bring you amazing bread with the best blue cheese and French dressing you've ever had and enjoy the supper club atmosphere of the past. Everything is incredible if you are open to trying authentic home made food! Enjoy the beer selection responsibly! A grasshopper or a Charlie Brown rounds out the night with a few pull tabs!

This quaint small town supper club outshines its size. The community of people who patron it are delightful and closely knit. The club serves a nice retro relish tray that is worth keeping on the menu as a hint of historical longevity and straight-up good taste. The decor is warm and welcoming like one hopes for in a rural community. The owners and staff are the most exceptional part! It's a jovial family atmosphere. I recommend the steak filet and prefer it medium rare to ensure that the flavorful juices remain. They definitely know how to marinate a great piece of beef!

This review only pertains to the hostess at the front who we've been told has worked there for years.

We arrived promptly for our reservation for 4 on a Saturday evening. We were greeted by two hostesses. One was very friendly and the other extremely crabby. After being seated our drink order was immediately taken. When it arrived our waitress accidentally spilled a very large beer on our table which doused us all in beer and shattered glass. She was mortified and began cleaning up the mess. The very crabby hostess came over and literally pushed her out of the way and berated her. We sat there frozen not knowing how to move due to the tension and the broken glass. The crabby hostess then screamed "MOVE!" to us.

Our waitress continued to serve us at our new table and was extremely apologetic. In the middle of taking our order the crabby hostess came and interrupted us (mid sentence) then told the waitress to go serve a food order before helping us. Seriously?! What is this woman's problem? We were dumbfounded and felt so bad for our waitress.

The food came but is was hard to enjoy due to being wet and smelly from the beer. We were offered no discount and were also charged for the spilled beer and it's replacement.

We will return to give this place another chance in the future with the hopes of better service.

Ranchero - if you read these reviews you need to do something about that hostess. Teach her some manners AND customer service...

Ettlin’s founded this supper club and focused on the important elements of a superior dining experience…..and it still shows today. No pretension here, just quality, fresh ingredients that are prepared to maintain the legacy of their founders.

You will want a reservation so you can be assured of selecting from the fresh daily entrees featured on their menu.

Worth the drive from Minnetonka!

Incredibly friendly and attentive staff and customers, including many regulars (thanks to Guy from Burnsville for greeting us and sharing his experiences as a regular who introduces others to this unique experience).

Authentic German food, true to our experience in Munich! You can taste the difference of scratch-made in all they prepare, especially their daily features and a demi (gravy) that we wanted to sip like soup! Several Paulaner beers to chose from and a full bar.

Many non-German options, including excellent steaks, seafood and Swiss-inspired entrees.

This unique dining experience brings influence from other parts of the world and combines it with the hard-working Minnesotan personalities….friendly, yes, but working hard...

We were a party of 12 on Friday night at 6:30pm last weekend. I had low expectations due to our party size but they put 2 servers on us and they knocked it out of the park. Everyone loved their food, except the only thing that wasn’t a hit were the BBQ ribs. The meat was cooked just right and tender, but nobody cared for the BBQ sauce. But all the food came out piping hot and all orders were done to perfection. Hash browns are crispy and good, super hot, and buttery. Au gratin potatoes were good too. We all like medium rare steaks and they were perfect. Recommend Rudy’s Signature Steak, fabulous filet! Some of us had special requests after the orders went in but they didn’t miss a beat. Salmon was a big thick filet that looked great and I will get that next time. My husband had the German food, pork schnitzel and loved it. The spaetzle was good but I’m not used to cheese on it, I’d tell them no cheese next time. Some people might like that though. The servers there were running at high speed. You could tell they were working hard. We tipped well as they deserved it. We look forward...
