Sweet Treats — Restaurant in Lamar

The chili was quite lovely and perfect for a chilly day. It has a stronger tomato base than you will find elsewhere, but that just added to the savory deliciousness of this bowl. We went on Tuesday, so the special was the Taco Salad. My son ordered this. It covers a full sized dinner plate and was mounded high on the plate. It had a wonderful flavor that would tempt any taco lover. My 9 year old daughter is very picky and only wanted a side salad. The lettuce on both the Taco Salad and the side salad was crisp and fresh and so perfect that both children are every single bite and my daughter asked for another side salad to take with her. Now, on to the desserts. We had the strawberry cream cheese pie and the strawberry banana cream cheese pie. Both were simply devine and smooth as butter with crumble and fresh fruit on top. The prices were extremely affordable and slightly less than we would have paid for value meals at a fast food joint. So today on our way back from russellville me my sister and nephew decide to stop at sweet treats in Lamar,ar get there 20 min till 11 sit down waitress takes our drink order then we are deciding what to get my sister orders the chef salad and I get the special of the day taco salad we are finishing up eating when my sister who ordered the Chef salad literally pulls the hair(it happens I know) from her mouth the when the waitress comes we tell her OMG!! I'm sorry she takes the plates comes back and says your meal is free of charge (wasn't looking for a free meal) then she proceeds to ask do you want dessert and before we can respond she herself says of course not why would you want dessert then the boss (Greg) comes out saying you don't have to be ornery with my waitress and we were like we weren't how and he said by saying no we don't want dessert and he says OK well don't make a scene and please come back. I was excited to try the desserts here, but it wasn't a great experience. The dining room strongly smelled like the boarding kennel at a veterinary clinic. It was almost nauseating. It wasn't very clear where to go or order, and I wasn't greeted for several minutes, just looked at and ignored. I watched an employee from the back pull something out of the trash and then take it back to the kitchen. When I finally ordered, I was shuffled to the side so someone else could hurry up and ring out someone else, so I didn't feel like my money or service mattered here.
