This place was good the first night but horrible the second night!!! We ordered a pizza, after coming there the night before and being very satisfied with bartender Jerry, he recommended we come back the next evening for the live music. Note, we were only in town for 2 days visiting from Denver. After 3 tables ordered sometime after we ordered and we started seeing them receive their orders, I asked the bartender how much longer our pizza was going to be. She kindly said she would check, but reminded me the kitchen was busy. I stated that's fine, however the other tables around us had ordered prior to us had received their orders (she argued this point). The bartender brought the wrong pizza to us following our request and got attitude when told so. In fact, the food belonged to the table next to us, which I may add ordered after us. I ask for our check and to forget the pizza. We were told we needed to change our attitude. This from the bartender to the us as customers. My friend (business owner) reminded the bartender that we were the customers and she probably needed to change her attitude. Then she (the bartender) told us... "why dont we run the bar and kitchen with just two people". Who the hell does this gal think she is? I only addressed the food issue because the others again that ordered previous to our order had been receiving their food and drinks,.... and I bring the drinks up as we went about 30mins with empty glasses. On top of that the bartender is atrocious and had the a worst attitude when confronted by a customer. We were told to never come back. I live in Denver and had never been refused service in any establishment. If I were the owner of this bar and restaurant, I would have sent this gal home immediately, no question. Spoke with the owner of the establishment, spoke of our experience (didnt feel she was too concerned) however, she was great and took care of us. The only thing the owner is responsible for is keeping this bipolar employee on. The bartender needs a reality check and needs to learn the basics of customer service and checking on her tables, not just her local customers. Continued our evening at Desiree's and had a few more drinks. As the customer, the real buck stops here. You would think you would learn from reviews and just make changes instead of argue with the people who are paying your business. Clearly not as you continue to instead of just apologize for the horrible experience and food after waiting over 45 minutes...
Read moreThe prairie lands remained cool from what (f....) "I'm Sorry"... was left of the 2015 winter on May 9th Mother's Day weekend. Such a long winter for many Colorado folks. Towns all the way from Denver to Lamar surprised & penetrated by the lingering coolness that prevailed onto the farmland & prairie countryside. I was lucky to stop at the Buzzards Roost Tap & Grill in Lamar Colorado just to warm up & relax, maybe eat something, regenerate myself exhausted from driving along the highway 50 route. Entertainment in the bar was scheduled for this Mother's Day, the year 2015. "Thank the heavens friends" The band Judi showed up to perform for the bar patrons & "yes!" I was excited when they started the event. I decided to stick around after hearing Judi begin by playing the tune "Paint It Black" and singing all like angels together, so perfectly well in musical time and correspondence. As the evening hours progressed so did the crowd grow in size and number with new faces and some really beautiful and lovely babes. " Sorry! I meant to say. Women, girls, and ladies" The crowd it grew and grew like a new plant would blossom and then settle down relaxing itself towards the time of sundown in the softening sunlight that might shine from the skies above. Different faces somehow appeared inside the rocking buzzard house tap and bar establishment as the band seemed to be so ever busy playing songs together delightfully spreading some real music life about. Jay and his band were busy pulling different instruments from the shelf to hit some hot chops on the little guitar like a mandolin and Cody bowing out fiddle licks with the newly discovered instrument the fiddle. Cody had mastered the songs he played on the fiddle & good also provided quality sounding guitar compositions plus he sang vocals with much ease. Jay played guitar, mandolin and sang lead vocal quite often and with so much spectacular flare. Brandon on the drums and sometimes lead vocals a powerhouse drummer and very talented singer. Mark played keyboard & sax! "Like the big daddy sax man that he is." Able was on bass guitar featuring some very hot vocals often lead singing them as well. Good harmonies prevailed with good tunes all in key and the band like the professionals that they have become was not to loud but just about right for the setting...
Read moreI came back. Tonight the wings were fresh and on point. The pizza was crispy and thin like cooked on crackers. That's the way I like it. If you want new York soft crust tell them when ordering. But tonight the service and food were great. Soft light bar atmosphere. I really enjoyed the evening. I had a bad experience before (as you can see below) and I'm glad I have it another chance. I guess we all have an off night. The owner was bar trending tonight. Maybe that made the difference. Plus that guy knows his sports.
You can disregard the below comment or know that an of night is possible.
So disappointing. I heard how great the wings and pizza but never about how terrible the service is. I called in an order. The phone rang for about a minute before there was an answer. No one answered they just picked up the phone and probably set it down right on top of the bar. Another 5 minutes went by (yes I really wanted to make the phone order so that I didn't have to wait there). Then click. I waited a few minutes and tried again. Nothing. So I went down there. 35 minutes of waiting and finally... cold wings that tasted frozen and old with bbq flavor when I ordered hot. Pizza was dry and burnt. The staff could care less. I waited another 10 minutes to fix it and instead I took back my 5 dollar to fit a$23 order... never again. Little Ceasars next time. At least they know...
