The Dairy Cup — Restaurant in Lamoni

Fair warning for travelers! Food and ice cream was great! My boyfriend and I stopped here for a road trip lunch today around 11 am. It was a bit over priced but we understand people have to make money off what they sell. However, the lady at the window was insanely rude and abrasive to not just me but other customers as well. When I added that I just wanted to make sure my burger had ketchup, bacon and cheese I got a “yeah I only put what you told me” in a very condescending tone. There was an older woman ahead of me who told me to go in front of her because she had not yet picked out her treat and I thought I was asked to step forward but I wasn’t ready either and the lady at the window said “no I am not talking to you, you are not next in line move over” I am not sure if she thinks I would have shoved aside an 80 year old woman for some ice cream just because she was acting like she would do that. My boyfriend and I both work in public service oriented jobs so we understand that sometimes you have a bad day and are just trying to make it through. We also understand that you are doing a job and representing a business so you should do so with a polite attitude and smile on your face. Found by doing a google search came on Sunday afternoon on a Sunday afternoon drive wanted to try some ice cream and hot food could only try the ice cream so only giving 4 stars do to small town local business and not serving hot food on a Sunday asked staff member why they don’t serve hot food on Sunday they said it’s Sunday for a small town serving hot food would be good for a Sunday drive cruisers. They may want to rethink their approach and menu as it a bit of a nice menu and food they offer but...

The food and prices are AWESOME! The new owner, Rob is bringing back a diamond in the rough. He's working hard to bring this place back to the original Dairy Cup! He's an amazing cook and will be bringing lots of new items to the menu as time goes on. He's also open from 11a-9p! No one else around has those hours!
