This is a great new addition to Route 7 in Lanesboro. The shop is so reasonably priced with a nice selection of food, wine, gifts...Me and the other two people I were with purchased several items today around 2pm. I gave it 4 (and not 5 stars) because the two people that cashed us out need to work on their social & welcoming skills. There was a young girl and a woman at the register. Neither one of them smiled at us or even said "hello" and one (the older one) was too busy on her cell phone to even look up. I had to say hello first and I said thank you as I left-they never said "thank you" either.. Those are two things that THEY should have said to me. My sister experienced the same thing when she went to the register with her items. No ackowledgemnt whatsoever. The third person with us checked out last after we walked outside. She said the man (I think the owner) thanked her for coming in. He wasn't there when we cashed out but maybe he can teach the two woman how to show some customer appreciation. Aside from that, I highly recommend this little...
Read moreI can't review the food bc I didn't have anything to eat. But the shop was filled on every shelf, table, wall imaginable with things that (as a resident of the Berkshire's as far back as I can remember) I have never seen before! I was definitely impressed. Definitely surprised, especially when I found my locally made (very hard to find) cookies, the local bakery is very small & selective about where they sell their goodies. I found my fav flavor shortbread in a large grocery store. The stock is only replaced maybe once every 6 weeks, but I was thrilled when I found the cookies here! Employees are super friendly & helpful! Going back at some time this week for a cookie refill! Looking forward to the...
Read moreA few years ago, I gave a rave review of Lanesborogh Local. They still have cute stuff, some of it locally made. I had to come back and edit the review today because I was really disappointed with our experience.
I won't make it too long of a story, but suffice it to say, we bought a whole lot of merchandise from them and were refused use of bathroom when it was clear that it was an emergency. We have used the bathroom there before, but we were told there wasn't one and given no other option.
I understand not having a public restroom. Don't insult our intelligence by saying there isn't one. Consider allowing patrons that are spending their money at your establishment the basic decency of relieving themselves. Plus, we would have stayed much longer and bought more if we didn't have to rush home......
