Cabreras — Restaurant in Lansford

I'm normally not a negative person, but I have no choice this time. This place is aweful and has been going downhill for quite some time now and I refuse to order from this place ever again. My last order was for a Sicilian pizza w/ extra cheese and I received a soggy, sloppy square contraption that looked like it had been dropped on the floor and placed into the pizza box upside down. The paper liner was completely stuck to the pizza and it could not be pulled off except for in tiny pieces. Furthermore, I was overcharged by 4.75 and there was the slightest quantity of cheese on the pizza even after ordering extra cheese. Mistakes like this are happening more and more frequently by this place and most other places in the area. I personally know many other people that share my opinions of this place and that's not good. Avoid giving your hard-earned money to this over-priced dumpster of a pizzeria. The other pizza joints in Lansford and Tamaqua share the same negative traits as this place and it's a real shame because you can't order decent food ANYWHERE in this area. But then again, this is to be expected in an impoverished, run-down low-income area like this. I'm glad I moved away and on to bigger and better things. Ordered a Cheese sub and a could other items from here. Got the food home and there was a big wad of MUD in the cheese sub! You read that right, I typed MUD! And I ate some! Drove back to the place and the usually drinking on the job owner (I witnessed him half in the bag and drop food on the floor and replate it on another visit) looked the sandwich over. He showed it to a cook in the back and the young man at the counter asked if we wanted our money back or a new sandwich. I told him, I want another sandwich AND my $5.95 back. So I was told, "ok, just have a seat and we'll remake the sub". So we wait, we wait for about 6-7 minutes and then the counter person comes back out from the kitchen and says, "because we have you money back, we can't give you the sub too." Unreal! I drive to purchase food from you, I eat god damn MUD, I drive back to your establishment and actually allow you an opportunity to make good on a pretty nasty and embarrassing mistake and you can't part with $5.95 to keep a customer who just ate MUD, happy? I'd really like to give more stars! I used to love this place. The food is good, the prices great. They even have good breakfasts. The store is a bit dim and outdated but that's not why it loses stars. Here's the 2 main reasons for my 3 stars; #1 the hours. I've gone 3x now at times when it's supposed to open. They weren't. No explanation. #2. I used to order a meatless vegetable Stromboli. On one occasion I went in, ordered it. The man proceeds to tell me they cannot make that. "What, why?" He says it's not on the menu. I state it's been made here half a dozen times before. He says "Well we can't now." And so we left and haven't been back. From a business standpoint, stupid. See I always get charged more than the menu price for the add-on veggies even though they get to keep the meats, the most expensive ingredient, which is fine....
