Elsa's Chicken and Waffles — Restaurant in Lansing

I have been a couple times but this last one got me here to review. It was a quick and effortless stop for some really fluffy waffles and good potato wedges. I didn't opt for a topping other than syrup because I hadn't had a waffle in years. Thick and fluffy but not crunchy or thin in the middle like a Belgian waffle so interesting. Clean and not greasy or crunch so you could pick this up and devour it (dipping in the syrup cup) even a convenient little serving of eggs that were perfectly salted but mild in flavor. For fast food prices I was extremely happy... cheaper than McDonald's and well worth the stop! Also check the ice cream options! The spiced cheesecake flurry is probably for a limited time but was SO delicious. Intend to go back and try it with fruit! Also the little mini corn dogs are really straightforward and it reminds me of being a little kid and my mom getting me a cup of them when we would go to the mall when the shoe stores would have big seasonal sales. Very satisfying. Also had the special breakfast burrito with French toast sticks in it. It was weird but not bad 😆 I'm not used to Sweet and Savory stuff together so...

Elsa's is located in the plaza that formerly housed Lansing Athletics. Simple easy on the eyes menu. Waffles were fluffy and decent size for the price and were the portions. Sauces chosen were flavorful with nice bite to the spicy selection. Wedges weren't crisp needed a couple more minutes. Unfortunately Elsa's does not have a bone in chicken selection which leads me to the review of the chicken tenders. These are the pre made frozen style, definitely not made in house fresh. I'm sure this keeps costs down as the price point was low. Definitely disappointed for a restaurant that features Chicken & Waffles. The hours could be better also. Doesn't open till lunch time. Worth a try for quick cheap munchie food.

Lansing is sleeping on these chicken n waffles! The owner is super kind and I've never been disappointed with any of my menu choices, which have been the classic chicken n waffles, hot honey chicken n waffles, and the buffalo crunch wrap, as well as the peppermint flavored coffee, plain black coffee, and a coffee shake(YUM). The food is SO good I always forget to take a pic before demolishing it lol. Looking forward to working through the rest of the menu!
