Southern Streams CoffeeHouse — Restaurant in Laurel Park

It was my girlfriend's idea to come here she's a sweetheart, This was our first time here. Places cute on the outside You notice that there's outside seating right away which I love upon walking in it's comfy and cozy, the place has great atmosphere, staff was friendly the decor is rustic and clean place felt well kept organized. A girlfriend ordered the breakfast burrito I ordered the avocado toast we split both of them. The breakfast burrito portion size one person could definitely eat it, it comes with a salsa which tasted good the texture of the outside of the burrito was crispy, it was delicious. Breakfast burrito was a win for sure. This is my first time having avocado toast comes on two big pieces of rustic sourdough bread slices of boiled eggs and pickled onions Let me tell you this is by far the best breakfast I've had in a long time that avocado toast was absolutely amazing I destroyed it, It hit the spot. I had the triples fall latte add wonderful flavors everything mixed together really well tasted delicious My girlfriend got the affogatto shots And it comes with Wit's custard vanilla she also got a matcha frap All the coffee we got was absolutely delicious and the which custard with the shots of espresso game changer yeah really I can't recommend this place enough it's amazing we'll definitely be back It's cozy it's awesome. My girlfriend said she's never going back to Starbucks again not only that but as you can tell on the menu they work with local conveyors so it's awesome because then you're helping your own community so you're shopping local it's...

I wanted to like this place, but the espresso is either over extracted or just burnt beans. Either way, not for those who enjoy the taste of espresso.

Regarding the milk We ordered two different beverages that require the milk to be steamed separately, since the foam is different for each, and yet, bizarrely, there was just one very large container for all the milk being steamed, all at the same time, for all of the drinks being made at that time.

Again, I want to like this place, and I have been many times. I understand ownership has changed hands, so this is regarding my most recent visit, Nov. 2023.

The location is one of the best in H'ville for a cafe, since it doesn't require going to the sh!t-show that is the poorly planned downtown area. (Honesty, how many stop lights do you need on Church Street?) But, this is the town that gave you Mark Meadows and his protege Madison...

1st time at Southern Streams CoffeeHouse and had a subpar experience. The Gingerbread Latte with house syrup tasted very bad to me and I politely told the woman in the front and asked to just have two shots of espresso instead. She proceeded to charge me for a new purchase, and I asked about this to which she said, "if we used the wrong milk, we wouldn't charge you for a new drink but if you just don't like it we will." I rarely ever have a coffee or drink I don't like but I've never been told as a customer that if I don't like something that I'd have to purchase a new one. I'd understand this if I'd consumed most of the drink, but I only took a few small sips and wasn't a fan at all and simply asked for an exchange for plain espresso (which was less than half the cost in this case).

Other than not being a fan of the coffee, the atmosphere was at least nice from that...
