Britt's Dutch Inn — Restaurant in Laurel

Well another place to eat in Laurel De at least I thought . I was excited to see this place open no more having to ride up to stargate diner . Well here is the truth . We went to dinner so I can not comment on breakfast or there sandwiches But there dinners save your money and go to food lion and buy a hungry man meal it taste better . We both ordered the pulled turkey dinner or at least I thought , that is what it said on menu . Instead the turkey dinner came out and it was chunks of sliced lunch meat with some kind of apple carrot stuffing with sysco instant mashed potato with powered sysco turkey gravy with no seasoning it was gross my wife could not even eat it she sent it back to get over cooked rubber shrimp . The bright side of this our waitress was very nice and the place was clean and you got large portions of nasty food . I would not worry about a doggy box because i do not think even the doggy would eat it . I am really disappointed because Laurel really needs good places to...

We have gone twice while staying with a friend this week, and have been happy with both visits.

The first time was a Saturday morning, and we we're pleasantly surprised to find they have a weekend buffet. The standard eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage were offered, but they also had scrapple, French toast, biscuits with sausage gravy or creamed dry beef, grits, and made to order eggs. Everything was great.

The second time was a weekday lunch. Their lunch menu is very generous, with many options that include multiple sides and a nice salad bar option. The entrees were large enough to satisfy, and the corn pudding is to die for.

The only downside is the physical condition of the restaurant. It is an older building, and in places, especially the restrooms, it shows.

We walked in and stood at the door for about 5 minutes, someone came out from the back glance our way, proceeded to a area where looked like she was dipping something out and went back into what I assume was the kitchen. We waited for another few minutes… no one came out so we left. This is not the first time I had this experience with this restaurant… years ago before the restaurant burned down we went in one night and got the same lack of service and we said that we would not go back again. We thought that after so many years and rebuilding that things might be different, it was not! We will never go back again! There was no crowd or line.
