Well my family and I ate here when it first opened. It wasn’t very busy at all but still took about an hour for my wife, one of my 2 boys, and my 3 girls to get their food. My oldest son and i’s food didn’t get brought out. After multiple attempts by the waitress to get our food and it still not be ready, we told the waitress she was doing an amazing job but we wanted to speak to the manager about the fact that we’re now 2 hours into our meal, everyone else is already done eating and me and my sons food still hasn’t come out. The waitress went back and told her manager that we wanted to talk to her and the manager literally told the waitress that she didn’t have time to deal with us.
Fast forward about 6 or 7 months. A lot of people have complained about this restaurant but here recently some people have been saying it’s gotten a lot better. I have to disagree. We decided to try it again tonight for dinner. There were about 4 tables being waited on so not busy at all. The waitress sat us down and took our drink order quickly. It took a little while for the drinks, chips and salsa to come out but not horrible. We noticed when she brought out our queso she accidentally stuck her thumb in the bowl. We thought that was gross but whatever. A little bit later we watched her go to another table away from any customers and she had her fingers in her mouth. My wife watched her to see if she washed her hands before waiting any more customers, and of course she didn’t. Well our food shows up, it took a little bit but no where near what it did the first time we went so that is an improvement. While waiting for our food I looked at and read some of the reviews and the biggest complaints I seen was bland food or messed up orders in which they make the waitresses pay for out of their pockets btw. Well our fajitas showed up and there was not a single grain of seasoning on that platter. We salted and peppered it to give it some kind of taste. Our kids said they liked their food even though it didn’t look very appetizing lol.
All in all it has definitely improved with getting orders out. The waitress we had this time was not as thorough as the last one was and left us waiting for extra tortillas, and missing silverware. Due to the bland flavors of the fajitas and our queso and after seeing the fingers in the mouth that were just inside of our queso, we will not be back and will stick with going to el magueys in...
Read moreThis review is not about our server bc he did a very great job. The room is very large and was a bit loud. Some sound absorption would help dampen sound bouncing around. Decent food. Compared to other Mexican restaurants it was below average. No flavor. Good portions. Price was comparable value. I ordered beef chimichanga dinner but received chicken. Our excellent waiter got it fixed quickly. The biggest problem was one person in our large group didnt like their food after only 1 bite and chose not to re order. The seasoning/smell was disagreeable to them. The waiter did a great job serving us but was required by manager to still charge our group member 1/2 price for their plate instead of taking the plate charge off the bill. The manager was requested and said he could not comp the plate saying "half the plate" was eaten... even tho 7 other people witnessed our group memeber eat only one bite before rejecting the plate. When our group kindly contested this account, the young manager deferred to the owner about the charge not being removed as the reason. The manager told us the owner makes the decisions and so we requested the owner and were told she would not be coming out. So... you have a new restaurant with an owner who is not willing to address customer complaints. That's not okay. So... for all these reasons, our party of 7 will not visit this restaurant again when we are in Mannford. The request to remove a charge was simple and reasonable. Our group member did not like the food after just one bite. The plate charge would have been removed at most.other restaurants, but not this one apparently. As a new restaurant you shouldnt turn off a whole group of 1st time customers by playing hardball with an order gone wrong. The waiter was required by the owner to pay for it, bless his heart. We demanded of the manager he not be forced by the owner to pay out of his pocket for a meal gone wrong that was not his fault. The owner appears to have customer svc challenges and places blame on her servers for food quality issues. Thats just wrong. In a party of 7, you can afford to remove 1 meal if that person truly didnt like your food and clearly didnt eat it, when 6 others paid. You still made money. Wow. We won't be back for all of these reasons. Date of sevice:...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would. We were there last weekend with 6 people in our party. Let me start by saying there were very few people in the restaurant, maybe 10 tables with people sitting at them. We were there for 30 minutes before our drink orders were even taken. When they brought the drinks, they informed us that they were out of sweet tea so my daughter ordered a Dr. Pepper. It was another 15 minutes before her drink was brought to her so at this point we had been there 45 minutes before she got her drink. We asked for tortillas, they asked flour or corn, we said both. They brought us 4 flour tortillas. For 6 people....4 tortillas. Never got our corn tortillas. They charge $10.99 for a "Large" queso which is a VERY small portion for that amount of money. They also charge $2.50 for 4 tortillas. Now lets move on to our food order. We had been there 55 minutes before our order was even taken. Another 25 minutes later or food started coming out..... 1 plate at a time. She would bring out a plate, go back to the kitchen for a few minutes then come back with 1 more plate. My husband's food did not come. The rest of us ate our meals, or at least the part worth eating, i'll get to that later. His food still had not come out. He went to speak to a manager and finally his food came after we were all ready to leave so he sent it back. Now for the food quality...let's just say gross. Their beans look and taste like canned chili beans. So nasty. There was no flavor or at all in anything, no seasonings, nothing. We were there 2 hours! Horrible service, horrible food. I highly encourage you to avoid this place at all costs! I would recommend going to Papa Chuy's...
