The Claddagh Pub — Restaurant in Lawrence

I went there twice in one week. My first experience wasn't a good one and I believe in second chances. The second time was on a Saturday night. Got there about 8:45 and wanted dinner. The previous visit was on a Tuesday and there were no waitstaff because it's slow on a Tuesday. Ok. Why on Saturday night is there no waitstaff? There were 3 bartnders and six customers at the bar. Again no waitstaff. We ordered drinks at the bar and sat at a table. A gentlemen approached us and said we had to pay a cover charge. $25!!!. We said we were just there for dinner so he charged us $10 each. I approached the customer service area to ask for menus. 3 times I politely asked for menus and was ignored. The bartenders we're having a conversation and I was told to wait a minute. I had already been up there for 5 mins. We finally ordered. The wait for our meal was about 20 mins. Our food arrived and was served on paper plates. The apps were ok. Chicken quesadilla and Buffalo tenders which by the way is not available in mild sauce. I started eating the last quesadilla and bit into something hard. It was a pretty good size piece of hard plastic. Excellent!!! I will never go there again. BTW the staff was very unfriendly. Not even a hello. Extreme disappointment!!!!! Beware...

Three times is my last. Service is so slow you can grow a beard waiting for your food. The waitress isn’t in much of a hurry either. The food is bland, very quiet on a Saturday night should tell you something. Never again, learned my lesson, three strikes and your OUT. Second time wasn’t much better. Ordered fish sandwich, way undercooked, mouth full of grease. We were there for lunch, not very crowded. Asked the waitress what was taking so long, she indicated one order was being redone. I want to like this place, but so far not to good. Stopped in for the first time with a few friends for lunch. The restaurant looks great, waitress was attentive. I ordered the steak and cheese sub, portion was a little small, but it tasted really good. Also had the Claddagh fries, they were a little undercooked, kind of nitpicking here. i had the worst experience in my opinion when i came here first off i came in the atmosphere was nice and good but when i asked the host to sit outside she told me i could not why would you have a sign outside saying to sit outside ask host when they tell me no i cant but i seen the host take another couple to sit outside i already knew this was going to start off bad i got the soup of the day with meatballs and chicken how do i get only 1 lil meatball in my soup i was really upset cause it also took them almost 10mins to take my order i honestly can say this just turned me off the entree i ordered was at least good after i had to add salt and pepper it’s like they don’t season there food wish i could’ve had a...
