The Flying Machine — Restaurant in Lawrenceville

This place was on my list for a while and the good reviews had me looking forward to eating here.... but I gave it 3 stars. Then went to 2. Let me start off with what was good. The view of the planes coming in was awesome. The sides were good especially green beans, fries and okra. And on to the things that fell short. The chopped steak was not good.... Was an unseasoned burger patty pretty much over rice and the gravy was awful tasted sour/disgusting/rancid or like something went wrong making it or I don't even know. I have never returned a dish ever anywhere but this was not edible due to the the unpalatable gravy. My tummy cramped on and off rest of the day. Also had diarrhea which made this turn into a 2 star.They did remake it no gravy and offered white gravy on the side which was better. Most places though it would have been comped off the bill but it wasn't which whatever but still.... I have been a server before all places I worked at would take that off the check or at minimum send out a manager to talk to you and figure out what went wrong and make it right....Mushroom swiss chicken sandwich my sister got she said the chicken wasn't seasoned I tasted it tasted fine to me I think what this sandwich needs is some kind of sauce or even mayo or something. My mom got the country fried steak she said it was good I tasted it and it tasted okay... I have had better from a frozen bag and heated up in oven at my house. My drink was low half of our visit no offer to refill it. Had to ask for straws and napkins. Which the place was slow they were not...

My family and I were in the area, I’ve been once before but it had been 10+years. Husband has never been, thought it would be neat for the kids. I’m hoping the service was as slow as it was because we came so late. It is a seat yourself restaurant, and shouldn’t be. You can’t identify who works and who is a guest. We let the kids choose where to sit. The restaurant is freezing cold, bring winter gear. We sat for at least 15 minutes before finally getting anyone to bring a menu. My husband already pulled the menu up on his phone and helped get two of the kids orders ready. Menus were given and no service again for another 5 minutes or so. Then ONLY the drink order could be placed, for lack of “not remembering” anything else. His exact words were “I’ll be good to remember the drinks”. As he was bringing the drinks to the table, a woman came over to get the food order. Food came faster than the people did to take any orders! I was impressed with that. BUT, the food is less than mediocre. Fries are gross. The actual restaurant needs a serious overhaul done. The ceiling tiles are warped from being so old. It looks like they’re going to fall in in some places. It’s extremely dated. Tables are sticky, leaving you to wonder if they clean them. If feels like a very small space...

CaptR Rohan has two duplicate reviews of my restaurant, completely full of lies.

We have never charged a delivery fee to anyone. We do not deliver. He may have called a delivery service called "Food Shuttle." This service would pick up food for you at a restaurant and deliver it to you for a $5 fee, or, it's just an outright lie.

We have never charged anyone for water. He claims "I" told him he should have checked the menu before ordering. I have never spoken to this person to my knowledge, and certainly wouldn't have said the things he claims I said.

There is no way his charge card amount was raised after he left. He didn't bother to follow up on it because it was not true.

All of "CaptR Rohan's" statements are false. He must have some type relationship with another airport restaurant owner, who wants to hurt us because he can't handle fair competition.

His posts are slanderous.
