Very disappointing šŸ˜” The traditional Meers I grew up n loved to visit with my family n was worth the 20+ min drive is no longer. That place from my childhood memories that was well known and loved for their down home, rustic country loving establishment n friendly accommodating staff as well as their famous tasty buffalo burgers are all of what only remains in the past it seems. Other than the beverages still being served out of the traditional country style glass jars n food still being served on the aluminum pie pan plates that's all that this place has kept traditional. The menus are 85%-90% covered n what appears to b black marker and the items to order r extremely limited. The menus r confusing n frustrating to deciefer due to some items that r physically scratched, x'd, n or blacked out on some menus not on others but according to our rude, unaccommodating, n rushed waitress they were not available and should also be scratched out. After the decreasing morale the waitresses attitude brought upon our family of 4 n attempting to order one of Meer's famous juicy buffalo burgers I was only further disappointed to b informed that they were only a past memory n r no longer prepared or served. So with all of the disappointment n negativity I loss my appetite n chose not to order anything jus drink my lemon water. Hubby n our 2 young teens (our 14 yr old son n 11 yr old daughter) we brought with us ordered longhorn burgers, fries n hubby n our son got a side bowl of chili. The food was even more disappointing. The burgers were flat, on the dry side, tasteless, the fries were unedible, the chili was also bland n boring. Our check came n I was surprised that out of family of 4 only 3 drinks, 1 water, 3 burger n fries, 2 side bowl of chili cost us over $60. How? Why? Nope, never again. As a true foodie I am well known for believing paying good money for good food, customer service n experience but this was very disappointing n not worth it. The prices are comical for what is prepared n presented. This place needs to go back in time and review everything they were known for n did right n bring it back to life. Definitely won't b returning unless there is some much needed change with staff, menu options, food items to order, and the traditions this place stood for at is revived and apparent. I know things have to change sometimes especially with inflation but when you are loved, appreciated and known for certain traditions not found anywhere else there has to b an exception somewhere.

This was - by far - the most unique dining experience I’ve ever had. My family stumbled into the dead silent entryway to discover a ramp built in the 1970’s covered with customers. The hostess would have been pleasant, but there was no hostess. We watched the precarious ceiling fan as it dangled, spinning before a counter that appears to have not been used since 1953. The decor was primarily the kind of marker graffiti one only finds in dirty gas station restrooms. We waited 20 minutes before we met an employee at the rusted chain the separates waiting customers from the seated ones. We made our way past the ATM from 1993 through a maze of wood paneling. Imagine that a group of 12 year-olds pioneering the Wild West in 1909 figured out how to glue pieces of building together. That’s how this building was constructed. Bowing floors and random stairways created a challenging terrain. It was an excellent warm-up for our hike through the Wichita Mountains. We sat down at a spinning top disguised as a table to read the menu. The entree choices were comprised of burgers, fried veggies, fried meats, hot dogs, and other red meat. I chose a cheeseburger (which was delicious) and okra-roulette. What a delightful game! One would never know if they were about to chomp down on a delicious greasy morsel of okra or a dried up piece of charcoal. I went to the ATM from 1993 to retrieve cash, as this establishment has chosen not to prioritize convenience. There I withdrew $60’s with a convenience fee. This amount barely covered my family’s 4 cheeseburgers, fried vegetables, and water. We did retrieve 2 free bite-sized tootsie rolls before traversing the haunted staircase to an exit. My family will never forget this unique experience. We are grateful for the kind waitress and tasty burgers that made this adventure not as frightening as it could have been. We will remember to bring an extendable swifter duster, a sharpie (for wall graffiti), Bluetooth speaker, and a wad of cash next time we visit.

We are a Traveling group that circle our Restaurants in our local area. We range in age, and Taste buds but one thing we could agree on here is Hostess Rudeness. We came in, not our first time either but we arrived a party of 6 but we were waiting on 2 others that hadn't arrived yet . We let the hostess know there were 8 in total , and she Rudely stated she would not be seating us until our entire party arrived, So we waited and as we did so other guest arrived and we let them get infront of us , as they waited for a hostess, one of the Elders that Is with my party , looked over to say Hey excuse me mam you have new guest, she said that they would just have to wait , my friend proceeded to explain , just letting you know you have other guest out here, she was truly bothered by . Then another couple came in and same thing , they went ahead of us , and waited and waited ... Then my elder again said Hello, trying to get hostess attention because , we'll nobody sits or stands there waiting to greet guest , when out from know where , and mind you I can not see her but I can hear her say , mam we are busy and they just have to wait , We don't need your help , we will seat them later, We are Busy .....We were shocked at her ugly attitude and the smirk on her face when we all walked up to see her face because we couldn't believe she was so rude . Our Final 2 arrived and Thankfully we didn't have to say because hostess n come forward to seat the other couple that we had informed her of , so we then said all of us are here . She walks us to the back and I kid you not , sits us at a table of 6 and our other 2 sat at a table seperate from us. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø I asked if we could put tables together, she said no , those tables don't move ... Ok but the ones we walked past došŸ¤” I didn't say it to her but We all said it out loud , what was the point of making us wait if we sat seperate and the original 6 sat together, šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø Thankfully Broom Hilda no longer bothered us , Our Waitress who appoligized for Broom Hilda's bad attitude, said she's always like that. Our waitress was great, funny , attentive and definitely made the difference, but not enough unfortunately for us to come back anytime soon if at all. Their lack of staff shows, our food was good, but my over all is that's supposed to be good food , the place is filthy , from the ceiling to the floor, and the laughing joke is their inviting sign that says be kind .... Be nice to our staff for during these times they showed up šŸ˜‚šŸ¤¬How about be kind to the folks who drive the distance That's who should be treated nice because with out us showing...

Unfortunately we won’t return here after our experience yesterday. We live about an hour or so south in Texas and try to make a day trip a few times a year with our kids to the mountains and then wrap up with eating dinner here. We walked in an hour before closing at 5 on a Saturday. There was a sign on the door stating their winter hours and due to short staff that their closing time for Saturday was 6PM. The hostess wasn’t welcoming whatsoever. She seemed more annoyed than anything that we were there. Asked how many and we told her 6. We have a small 2 year old my husband was holding so obviously we would be needing a high chair. She took us to a table and there I asked for a high chair. She dragged a chair off and brought one back to put in its place. All the while with a chip on her shoulder and a put out attitude and a clear vibe she didn’t want us there. Maybe she was having a bad day, but this was the customer service we were receiving first thing walking in. 1 women took our drink order (she was plenty friendly), and then the other came back and took our food. We never fully knew who our waitress was. The woman who took our food order came back and brought our food. She didn’t ask us if we needed anything. She just set it down and walked off and NEVER returned! No one asked us if we needed a thing- not a refill, not how was your food? Nothing. My husband got the chicken fried steak and it was so tough he could hardly cut through it. Said it was more like a dead opossum it was so bad. It was $15 too. They put mustard on my son’s burger when he told them cheese and mayo only. - not a big deal. He ate it anyway. The woman who took our drink order brought us our check. The section we were in the woman who sat us and took our food order was cleaning the tables. Then we threw a fit when I’m assuming the owner tried to seat the last family in another area of the restaurant at 5:40 bc she had already cleaned it. It was clear she was ready to be done and was annoyed people were choosing to eat here. When we went to pay out she was sitting behind the checkout area counting her tips. My husband being the nice man that he is left her (OR SOMEONE šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø) a $10 tip. Needless to say the entire experience was terrible! Which is really very sad. We both grew up going here and wanted to continue to bring our children back but it was not worth the money or the...
