Jerry’s — Restaurant in Le Claire Township

The place is cool. We had dinner in the outdoor area and it was fun watching the people at the driving range. I will go back probably to hit some balls from the automated ball distributer. With that said, I will probably try it again because based on reviews we must have been there on an off night. We ordered two appetizers and on the bill there was a special note on one of them that said OUT FIRST. We got that appetizer after the first 3 entrees were delivered. It was the steak croustinis. They were cold and even looked it by how much myoglobin was dark red and starting to dry. The two childrens meals were probably fine and the 3rd entree was finished before the other two entrees came. The last two entrees came out 20 minutes later. Drinks took 20 minutes to get. By the time we got the last entrees we had been there for an hour and ten minutes. The fries were cold and limp, even though I ordered chips. The pesto chicken calabrese didn't have any pesto and the chicken had 0 seasoning on it. The chicken Ceasars wrap had barely any dressing. The spinach artichoke dip was good though. I refuse to send food back in any restaurant, which is why I may try it again another time. The staff was unsolicited apologetic about the service which makes me think that they knew it wasn't going the way it should have. We watched ours and other tables entrees make their way in and out of the building a few times which displayed the disorganization. I hope that the 5 star reviews are genuine and that it was just a rough day. I have only had one worse experience at a restaurant before this so I will gladly change this review next time...

We were there on a Sunday afternoon. Were seated right away. Got our drinks right away, then took awhile for the waitress to return to take our orders. We thought that was a long wait! We then waited and waited and waited for our food. We waited over an hour! (Yes we could have left, but we were starving and thought that any second our food would arrive) The waitress stopped by once to say that our food WAS coming and that the “kitchen was a mess. “ I know it wasn’t the waitresses fault. I feel like there wasn’t a cook. Because after an hour, food started flowing out of the kitchen like someone had just arrived to start cooking. I got the Rachel. It was good. My friend got a turkey avocado sandwich and it was meh. I couldn’t get the toilet to flush in the women’s bathroom. When my friend went to the bathroom, there were no paper towels. I feel like if there was a problem in the kitchen, we should have been notified so we could have chosen to stay and wait, or seek nourishment elsewhere. Would think twice before going...

June 2024: Stopped for a quick dinner. We had the spinach artichoke dip to start, wasn't really into it with the provolone flavor (adult kid loved it) Chips and breads that comes with were really good though.

I ordered the caprese salad, added chicken, and made into a wrap. It was light and delicious, comes with fries which were also good. It's a large wrap so I took half home. Would definitely order again

Kid ordered the chicken Marsala and enjoyed it. Also a large portion so half came home. Had the pineapple mojito too.

Lots of menu items I'm looking forward to trying soon.

Feb 2025 Update: visited this forgotten gem and again had great food with excellent service! I had the Jerry's burger with fries, because I have been craving a real burger not a smash burger.
