Culver’s — Restaurant in Lee's Summit

Family of 4...we dined in, thankfully. Otherwise we would have gotten home to find missing components of our meals. Seems to be a common occurrence with food service lately. Frustrating because it delays the whole meal. One staff member brought an order (we made a 2nd order of cheese curds because how can you visit Culvers and not get the cheese???) to the table, and we asked for the applesauce that was missing from the kids meal. She said she would bring that right back, but she never returned. Meanwhile, my husband realized the coleslaw was missing from his fish platter. After waiting about ten minutes, he just went back to the counter to retrieve the missing items himself. Overall, the service was very friendly, but otherwise not great. The food was REALLY good! I am impressed with the menu here. Awesome burgers, melt in your mouth pot roast, rich brown gravy, super buttery grilled cheese... The fish portions are very big and thick. A bit too greasy for my taste, but still very yummy! The fries are always a favorite with my clan, too! We ordered 2 large fries and none were left by the end of the meal! I like Culvers, and we will visit again. The service isnt superior, and they did not appear to be short staffed. We will just have to remember to always check our order thoroughly before leaving if we use the drive thru. Although we were way too full to have dessert, the kids meal comes with a scoop, so we all took a taste, and no disappointment there-! Hubby had a shake, but they don't carry his fav fruit....pineapple. All in all, i wouldn't tell anyone not to go there. Just be prepared to wait (the food IS cooked to order...hot and fresh!!).... And always double check your order...

My wife and I live in Grandview, but we visit with our daughter every week in Lee's Summit, and we more than often than not, pick up our family lunch here on the way to her house.

The service is great and the people sincere.

On one occasion the car [a white pickup] behind us took our big order, when the first carrier dropped something and went back inside before getting out to our car. My wife noticed in her mirror and mentioned she thought our order was delayed by that.

When another girl came out she came with our order. A huge bag for our family, she didn't walk all the way up, but gave it directly to the truck behind us. And he pulled out immediately from behind us.

My wife said, UH-OH there went your chocolate shake, I saw that with the huge bag.

And sure enough the original carrier came out next, and was looking around for the truck, he hesitantly walked up to our window with a small bag, my wife said, yea that guy behind us took our order, right? He said yea, sadly.

But our wait was not that long and they gave us some free coupons and a sincere apology for the extra wait. God bless them and support them! They also offer a discount for veterans, so if you're a veteran like me, mention it...
