I don’t usually write reviews, but after my last experience at Dave’s I feel it’s worth sharing. I placed a takeout order and was helped by a very kind front counter associate. no issues there at all. While waiting with my buddy, he stepped away for a moment. His buzzer went off, and at the same time there was a single closed order box placed on the pickup counter. I walked up holding his buzzer still going off in my hand. Not knowing what he ordered, I leaned in to check the printed receipt on top of the container. Clearly confused, I gently pulled the box forward with my arm just enough to see if I could read the name. I never picked it up or tried to walk off with it.
Immediately, I was approached by an employee I assumed to be the manager. He impatiently told me I couldn’t just come up and touch the food. I asked if the order was for “ “, and he said, “I don’t know, it goes by number.” By this time my buddy was standing right behind me, and yet the manager started becoming more hostile, going on and on, saying they didn’t want people touching or stealing food. All while he was handling the box himself with bare hands and no gloves.
So by this point, I had lost my patience. He didn’t allow me to take the two seconds it would’ve taken to step back to my table and grab the order number or turn around and ask my buddy what it was. He didn’t even acknowledge him. It was already painstakingly obvious the food was for us so I raised my voice and asked him why he was making an issue out of this. To which he immaturely took his whole body and slid the food towards us and continued to insult my intelligence and talk at me as I walked off.
Later, when my order was ready, a different worker politely asked for my order number and explained she only asked since my buzzer wasn’t working. I was prepared to produce my receipt and she even offered extra sauces. While there, I approached the manager, apologized for raising my voice, and offered a handshake (mistake). He rudely refused, and once again continued to argue with me instead of de-escalating.
The food was good, and every other employee I interacted with was polite and professional. Out of the 3–4 times I’ve been to Dave’s since they opened, this was the first bad experience. All the others have been exceptional. For that reason, I’m not leaving a one-star review. But the hostility and lack of professionalism from this manager was unacceptable, especially in an environment where tipping is expected. I’ve always tipped generously here, and this kind of treatment is...
Read moreJust like to share. Um, last night I walked in, it was super busy. I work for a company to do deliveries. And first time being in that store, I'd never heard of you guys before. Never knew you guys even existed had an order to pick up go to the area where it's pick up area in order. I show my phone and the lady. Instantly had this attitude saying, did you look at the screen? It'll be up there if it's ready. I was complete shock. I was like, wow, okay, no. I didn't, and I get it. The heat makes people angry. It makes people with tingle, their butt hairs or whatever interrupt, roar, or whatever anyway. I go to the screen. I look at it and I said, okay, well, it doesn't seem like it's ready. So I waited, now this order should have been done when I got there at 706 is when I was supposed to pick it up, I didn't leave your store until after 7:30. That takes money out of my pocket in time. So I'd really like it. If you guys could try to focus on the deliveries as much as you focused on people coming in. Putting orders in when this order should have been ready bagged up for me just to grab and get out of that store. Thank you for your time. I hope to hear someone about this, and I don't appreciate the rude. Um associate that spoke to me because she was rude to a customer and the customer had to go look at the screen, and then she went right back to that counter and said she wanted her bag of food that she had ordered 20 minutes ago. So please Dave's chicken. I'd really like it if you guys could really focus on Existing deliveries that were in before customers that put their order in when they come...
Read moreTldr: juicy chicken, large portions, good flavor, long wait, get a 2nd sauce! 8.5/10, would recommend
Stopped in on Sunday for dinner with high hopes and hungry stomachs.
The menu is pretty simple, reassuring me they are going to do one thing and they're going to do it well. I was a little surprised the combos didnt come with a drink, but the option is still there to order one if you so wish.
I ordered a combo that came with a tender, a slider, and fries. I am a big man with a big appetite, so I was a little worried a tender and slider wouldn't fill me up, but was I wrong!
The chicken tender was massive! Approximately the size of my hand. And the "slider" is just a chicken sandwich, let's be honest.
The chicken was thick and juicy, the seasoning was a dry rub style with a suprisingly good sweet note to go with the heat, and the fries were perfect, which surprised me as I'm not usually one for crinkle cut. The slider had just the right amount of slaw on it to not overpower any flavors or drown the bun.
Now for the "bad". The wait was killer. It was 25 minutes from order to food ready. A little too long for a counter service place. It is the 1st month though, so I take that with a grain of salt and hope in a few months time it'll be fine. I, personally, wanted a more vinegary sauce to add to the chicken also. There were some pickles provided, which helped with that craving, but not exactly what was desired. And lastly, you're only given 1 thing of sauce. That stuff was so good, definitely need to get a 2nd one if you really want to...
