I had been excited to try Firebirds since they opened. it looked like a great place so for my dad's 81st birthday we made reservations. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who took us right to our table. That was the best part of the entire night. Our server was very nice but appeared to have been quadruple sat and was clearly having a difficult time keeping up, causing our service to suffer. One guest in our party ordered a Salad app which took a good 30 min. The entrees took another 30-40 min. When the entree's arrived they brought me the wrong item which they took back and replaced with a new one that looked like they just dumped it on the plate to get it out. My sisters Tenderloin was ordered MR and came out Well Done with literally cold Mash Potato's, like refrigerator cold. Since it had already been well over an hour and the line was completely backed up, She asked for some hot butter so she could try to heat the Mash Pots up a little. Our waitress was doing the best job she could, and was in a hurry. About 10 min. later she brought the butter which was in a metal ramikan and not on a side plate so by the time she got it to the table it was burning her fingers and she dropped it on me and my jacket. She apologized and said she would pay for it to be cleaned. She was busy and I didn't want to get her upset so said no biggie were fine. I figured I would just speak with the manager on the way out. Moving on, We had told her at the beginning of our night it was my dads birthday and could she bring out a desert at the end. Due to being so busy she forgot so we reminded her which after 30 min. I got up and asked another employee if they could check on it for us. She brought it immediately, However , we had no silver ware. We waited another good 5-8 min. staring at it before my dad could try it. I know the hospitality industry is being hit with shortages in staffing so I was forgiving of the entire experience except for the last thing. Upon leaving I spoke with a Manager about getting my jacket dry cleaned or replaced since it was an expensive jacket. I didn't care about my jeans and shirt. She took down all my information and said she would take care of it. That was the last I have heard from anyone at Firebirds. We dined there on May 12th and today is May 17th. Needless to say it was a very disappointing 3 hr. experience and on top of a $100 plus bill it will cost me another $160 to replace my jacket since the butter wouldn't come out. I would have given them another shot once the employee shortages had settled down but the fact nobody even called to apologize speaks tons about the management team and how they run this business. I hope they figure it out as it has a lot of potential. In the meantime I will be using this experience in training our staff on how not to run...
Read moreI gave the Lee's Summit location a 2 out of 5 stars because of the taste of the food and overall experience at this location and with their headquarters. First off, the food tasted great, so that is why I gave it 2 stars. Everything else about my experience is why I will not be returning to any location of Firebirds. Just to give you all details...I made a 8:30 pm appt and arrived around 8:05 pm. I was told right away I wouldn't get seated until 8:30 because they were busy. I said okay, and understood that. I and my daughter decided to wait inside because there was no one else waiting inside and I felt safe enough without the crowding. The rest of my party waited in their respective vehicles. About 5 minutes later I was told we have a table for you but don't think this will happen every time, we just happen to have an available table. I said I understand, great. Even though I felt as if they could have told me that 5 minutes ago when I walked in, if they had even looked. Still understood. We were finally seated and everyone got their orders in (6 of us). Everyone received their food except for me. My waiter who was good, asked if I had received my food about 5 minutes later. She said something happened to my food and it had to be recooked and the manager would be over. Still fine, I just started eating off my daughter's plate. Finally my food got to table about 10 minutes after everyone else's. It looked great. I took a small bite, the chicken was raw, so I sent food back intact, even with raw bite on plate. The manager finally came over. The first this she said was, "I cut the chicken open and it was not raw." I told her it was raw even though it looked cooked. There was no mention of a sorry your food came out late, the manager just challenged the fact that my food was raw. By this time everyone was done eating and I had eaten off of several people's plate so I didn't want my plate anymore. We had other plans so we left. My meal was taken off and I paid and tipped waiter well. I was very upset, but didn't want to ruin the evening. I decided to give headquarters a call later. Someone at headquarters said they would send me a gift certificate, but more important that the general manager should be giving me a call. I have not received a call from GM nor did I receive a gift certificate. I would have definitely have used at another location, because as I stated, the food was good. Very poor customer service at every level in this organization. I will not be back, the food was...
Read moreTL:DR- Our food was hot and delicious, our service was super friendly!! My sister and I had a crazy jam-packed day on Sunday(5/30) and before we knew it, it was 8:30pm and we were starving. We weren't dressed for downtown dining but wanted steak and some tasty drinks so we wandered in to Firebirds. Our hostess asked "How can I help you" instead of "how many are in your party" or "would you prefer inside or there is open seating in the bar" and it caught me off guard, so I was like "i... want to eat here" Ugh. Man. I wasn't ready for that. I'll be chewing over that awkward moment for a few more weeks. Anyway, we sat in the open seating in the bar and were greeted right away. It did take a few minutes for our server to come back for our drink order so we popped on here to read some reviews. We found the "cold food" and "slow service" reviews and look.. if you don't know about the world-- but specifically the service industry-- staffing crisis right now, you deserve every bite of those cold mashed potatoes. The constant was that "the service was friendly" but the cooks made their food cold. Thanks for being nice to the servers, I guess, but if you received food at all.. like.. let's just be grateful. Anyway.. we braced ourselves for cold food and just enjoyed our drinks and guess what?? Our food was amazing!!! And hot!!!! We ordered the lobster queso as an appetizer- so yum, and yes.. there was lobster chunks in there. Our server suggested dipping the bread in it so we did, I also recommend doing that. For our entrées, we order the filet and shrimp and the meatloaf. Filet was cooked perfectly medium rare, as ordered, and that mushroom gravy on the meatloaf is legit!! I highly recommend both. Our server was very attentive and.. you guessed it.. friendly the entire time and a manager even stopped by to check on us too(I see you table touch). If you have concerns about not having the best dining experience, I recommend not dining during typical busy hours and not dining in large groups until our country is fully up and running again... but do...
