Honestly, I HATE leaving bad reviews. Especially for local businesses out there trying to survive. If something isn’t my vibe, I generally just chalk it up to differing taste buds and let things be. But this place is a low effort, low quality abomination surviving on some sort of past reputation and charging $15 a plate for something that is 5% the quality of what you get for half as much at Taco Bell.
Good god. Where do I begin. The salsa was marinara sauce. Straight up. The spicier salsa was marginally better, but still nothing great. The ONLY respectable thing here was the Habey Dip, which is their take on white queso. Again, probably a 4-5 out of 10 on that but it was definitely edible.
The entrees. I struggle to find the words. This is cafeteria food folks. I got a burrito. It was filled with unseasoned ground beef that had the texture of kinetic sand, refried beans that had the flavor of nothing, and allegedly some pork which I was unable to find. It was topped with quite literally velveeta cheese that had already solidified into a plastic laminate by the time it reached the table. It was obviously prepared by scooping whatever contents out of an hours old bucket, wrapped up and sent out to the table (on the bright side, food came out super quick!). It reminded me of high school lunchroom food. It came with a side of rice that tasted like wet carbohydrate.
My wife also got a burrito, and had the same experience. Hers was topped with marinara sauce (salsa?). Two bites for both of us and we asked for the check. Normally I’ll finish what I ordered, but I couldn’t in my right mind rationalize putting this in my body. We took the loss, left, and got some Abelardos.
Look, the service was fine here. Our server was perfectly pleasant and did a great job. The restaurant was reasonably clean and looked like your basic kitschy local spot. There’s a plane on the building. That’s neat. But my god don’t let them sell you this stuff for $15 a plate and let them tell you it’s a meal. There is no way I’m going back here. I get it. I read reviews too and take them with a grain of salt. But I implore you with every fiber of my being to heed my warning. There are better options....
Read moreI was at this establishment well after the lunch rush today. There were 2 other tables in the entire restaurant. Jen was our server. She was fantastic! The order came out quickly and warm however very poorly put together. The 2nd meal that was ordered at my table was a pork Supreme burrito with the smothered cheese sauce on the side (which made it hard to hide the quality) . When you took the tortilla that was just laying on top (not rolled) off the stuffing back it had 4 pieces of pork in the entire burrito. The rest was all rice. This was not a lunch portion burrito, so paying the full price of a regular dinner burrito. Knowing this is a kitchen issue and they are currently not busy, out of frustration the plate was put on the end of the table with 3 bites taken out of it and more than 2/3 left. Jen took the plate to the back, told the "manager" that we stated the meal "wasn't good". The "manager" not only didn't come to our table or to show their face to address the situation but sent Jen back to the table to relay a message from said "manager" that they will not take the meal off the bill because of how much was eaten. But Jen the handed me a card for free cheese dip or margarita at next visit. (side note we had a 6.99 appetizer that could of been comp'd and most importly we NEVER asked for anything free). Disappointed with how the "manager" allowed this situation to be handled and keeping in mind Jen did the best she could with what the kitchen and manager left her with I left a note that she did great and stated we would never be back and left the coupon for her to give to a table that would use it. It is to no surprise the decline of business of this establishment, if this is the type of "management" that...
Read moreService was horrible! Manager was extremely rude! 5 in our party & we had to wait 40 min for our drinks (2 sodas, 1 iced tea & 2 margaritas). We ordered the queso dip, which came before our drinks. No one apologized to us for the wait, gave a reason for it taking so long, nothing!! Waitress walked past us 7 times & didn't ask if we needed anything (drink refills, more chips, to clear dishes, etc) but she helped other tables. We asked to see a Manager. Manager had a chip on his shoulder when he came to our table. We asked about the wait/drinks & his response was "oh yeah, I was just making those margaritas. The other table is a party of 2 & you are a party of 5 so it takes longer to serve you." It wasn't until after we spoke to the manager that we "all of a sudden" got our food. The cheese on my grandson's quesadilla wasn't even melted & the margaritas were watered down. We asked for the manager again (he didn't want to listen to ANYTHING we had to say), to see what could be done about the bill & his response was, "No, we aren't going to do anything. You just need to pay the full bill." He puts the receipt on the table then pushes it toward my husband. My brother in law tried to explain what happened & the manager got rude with him & tried to make excuses, no apology. Manager then says "I'll take care of this, you just need to leave." We get up to leave & the table behind us chimes in saying, "you need to give them a break they are short handed. You should just eat somewhere else next time". I get being short staff, especially now a days, that needs to be explained when your guests...
