This is my third time to Hand in Glove. In the past they have had a menu of whiskey available and the price per pour. This time the bartender said they didn't have a menu. I went online to find their website and couldn't find it or a menu of available whiskey. (how are you a high end bar without telling people what is available?! We can't see the bottles hidden in the second row row of shelf 2 let alone shlef five! So I order a pour of EH Taylor small batch thinking: it's second shelf, it will be reasonably priced...but the pour is $40! Seriously! $40 for a bottle that is $120 on secondary... In Lee's Summit!?!! My friend asks how much for the Woodford Reserve DNA? it is $140 per pour for a $300 bottle!
Hand in Glove: If you want to attract 20 year olds buying espresso martinis than keep it up. If you want to attract 20 year olds and people who actually spend money, make a menu of available liquor to drink with prices! If you don't want to say how much you charge for a pour it tells me you want to take advantage of me and that is not a place I will return to.
My friend group of 6 whiskey drinkers will NOT return to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAll too often we find these special places and we become āregularsā and forget just how important it is to let some of our favorite businesses know just how much we love and appreciate them! I am thankful to be welcome as a regular here. The staff are genuinely kind individuals that really take an interest in you as a person, specifically Ross and Eddie who have been my go to guys for over a year now, Tuesday through Friday. I really donāt have enough space to write how much I have enjoyed frequenting this place specifically to catch up with these two! They are the backbone of Hand in Glove. The atmosphere is unlike any other. The owners, Shane and Meredith really created a unique space that draws you in and not only makes you want to stay, but keep coming back as well. From the wall to wall marble down to all of the unique gold accents, every bit of Hand in Glove was well thought out, and truly makes for a one of a kind place. Give this place a try, you wonāt be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was my wife's birthday and we had reserved the small private room for 8 of us for 2hrs beginning at 7:30. Around 8:45 we were told that the next group was there, and we needed to let them have the space. Blue (one of the bartenders) then developed a nasty tone and said "you need to pay your tab and get out!" They claimed that they sent my wife a text about the schedule change. She never got a text from them. The entire staff is less than friendly, especially Blue. This business likes to think of themselves as an upscale boutique kind of place. We spent close to $200, and our drinks were served in plastic solo cups. I saw other patrons using real glasses, so I'm not sure what the deal was, and dont really care to have it explained. For the price of the drinks, they need to be served in adult containers. Period. I have recommended this place dozens of times. I will now spend the same energy telling people...
