‼️⚠️Major health code violations happened right in front of our eyes.
Dined here for lunch, Monday, April 21. The woman in charge of to-go orders and the salad bar between 12:30-1:00 PM had numerous violations.
Walked up to the bar with my plate and noticed her holding a to-go ticket then began filling plastic containers with salad and toppings. First thing she did was stick her entire hand (gloved) into one of the salad bins. Put the salad in the container then proceeded to use that same HAND to grab all of the various toppings. Cross contamination happening all over the place. Let me tell you how I was not interested in eating the salad bar at this point. Then I see her also using the utensils provided on occasion, interchangeably using them and then just her hands. In other words, grabbing the ranch dressing spoon with her gloved hand, the spoon that many other people have touched with their BARE hands, then using that same HAND to dig into the croutons, cheese, etc. Why even wear the glove!? This is no different than allowing guests to just use their hands to grab toppings and fill their plates.
I looked around to see if any other customers noticed. Yep. A guy across from me had a disgusted look on his face as he watched her and said this is why he doesn’t eat at buffets.
I took a seat at my table to eat my sandwich and continued watching her for the next half hour. Never took off those gloves as she went back and forth into the kitchen with cleaning supplies, refills of toppings, tickets from the counter to fulfill orders. She’d literally use a wet rag to wipe down the salad bar with her gloved hands, then stick her gloved hands into the toppings to make to go orders. I wasn’t eating anything from that salad bar now. If those to go order customers only knew…
I was completely disgusted and in shock. I’ve worked in many restaurants and we all know some shady things can happen behind the scenes, but there was no hiding her violations. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings or make her feel bad, but it was also difficult for me to watch other customers unknowingly fill plates from a salad bar FULL of germs and cross contamination.
I tried to stick around to find a manager after but the line was long for orders and I had to get back to work. Hoping someone in charge can explain this and also reassure us it will never happen again while training their staff on health and safety....
Read moreHands down one of the worst experiences of eating out in a long time.
After eyeing the full plates and generous serving sizes on patron's plates as I walked in, I was confident this was a place that would give the customer good value for their money.
NOPE!!!!!!
I ordered the ranchero chicken wrap.
There's a certain expectation when ordering a wrap. One... the sandwich will come, oh, I don't know... WRAPPED.
It came out on one of the smallest tortilla shells I have ever seen just folded over once. Nothing "wrapping" the ingredients in the tortilla.
And half the "sandwich" was the filling, the other half was just bare tortilla.
What a freaking joke for almost $11.00. It looked like they diced up one chicken strip, just one. And they added a pinch of vegetables and a pinch of cheese.
And because it wasn't actually wrapped, just open on both ends, you bite into it and the food falls out the other end and you get sauce all over your hands.
By contrast, they sell sandwiches with a quarter pound of meat for the same price.
Would it be too much to ask for a wrap to have just as much meat and vegetables as on a regular sandwich and actually be WRAPPED so ingredients didn't fall out as you ate it?
Jason's Deli. More like...
Read moreNever eaten here yet but called to discuss a to go catering order and the lady on the phone got a rude tone with me and started talking down to me because I couldn't understand why it cost more for two sets of 10 than it had for a set of 30. She had only quoted me the price for a single set of 15 the first time she gave me a price but I am not sure why she did it that way when I clearly said 20-30. Maybe to make it sound less costly. I also only wanted a couple of simple trays of two different types of sandwiches but she insisted they come in a variety and listed a bunch of various breads, meats and cheeses. Perhaps that is the only way they offer trays but my group has a lot of allergies so I really just needed a couple sets of simple sandwiches to avoid getting anything someone would be allergic too. I just politely told her I would look elsewhere and hung up to avoid further confrontation. I just feel like it just shouldn't of been that difficult or complicated to order two simple trays of gluten free sandwiches for a group event picnic but it's fine. I'll just grab some things from the store and we'll make our own, lol! Maybe they just want to cater to more upscale venues rather than the every day...
