We were in Lee's Summit and decided to try this place for dinner. We walked in and were not greeted. We figured out you ordered via a computer. We ordered and realized we did not order drinks. We checked the computer and saw only bottled water. We walked around and realized there was a bar around the corner. I tried to order a Dr. Pepper, but they only had coke and sprite in a can. We decided we'd be OK. We played a game while we waited. The food arrived, and it was good. I wasn't disappointed nor impressed. I doubt I'll return. I live in Independence, and it's not worth the drive. The place seemed more like a bar than a pizza place. I don't drink. If that's your kind of place, then maybe you would enjoy it. There was a pool table and other games. It was a nice place but confusing and not much to choose from non alcoholic. No iced tea or lemonade, I'd assume possibly, but I only asked for Dr. Pepper. Pizza was decent, but nothing special.

I had the margarita pizza. The flavor was great and could fresh ingredients went into it. The pizza dough was a bit chewy for me. The Lee's summit location does not take orders over the phone so you either have to put it in online or at the computer at the front. There's only 1 cook. Also was not greeted when we walked in, but like I said, only 1 cook. The atmosphere is really nice for a pizza place but they have games and a bar to relax and enjoy a cocktail or two and play games. Services was good. The parking is in downtown Lee summit which makes parking hard to find if it's busy that day or night.

We were passionate fans of the West Plaza location when we lived in the city. This was our 3rd time with the new location and the inexperience with the new crew making pizzas has shown every time. This time the pizza was uneven with it being thin towards the crust and thick in the center, and the center cuts were all off leaving small slices and really big slices. Please get these crews some proper training or quality control so it can be that wonderful Johnny Jo’s standard because LS needs to know the real deal.

Editing my review from 1 star to 5 because the new manager is amazing. The pizza is better, the environment is better, everything is all around better and we will 100% eat here again!

First bad experience had one poor employee working by themselves at the soft open during a chiefs game with no ingredients for anything but cheese pizza. Then today spend my 30 minute lunch going across town for a slice of pizza and they don’t have slices today? How can you be making pizzas and can’t cut one or two into slices to sell?? About to give up on this place which sucks because the couple times we’ve been able to actually get pizza it’s been good. Just not dependable.

Editing to add- we tried again tonight and they stopped taking orders after we all waited in line for 15-20 minutes. Feels like you could turn off online orders instead of turning away people who have been waiting in person and planned to drink at the attached bar, so a loss of customers for the bar too. Just making us feel like we can’t ever go here because you never know if you can get...

Incredible Experience at Johnny Joe’s Pizza!

From the moment we arrived, Johnny Joe’s made us feel like VIPs. We got there a few minutes before opening, but the manager, Ricky, greeted us warmly at the door and invited us in to get settled. His kindness set the tone for the entire visit—what a great start!

Now, let’s talk about the pizza: WOW. Hands down, this was the best pizza I’ve had in ages! The crust was absolute perfection—crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside. It was so good that my aunt tried to convince them to sell her a loaf of their dough to take home! (We’re still laughing about it.)

The atmosphere was nice and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food. Every bite was a treat, and we couldn’t get enough of it.

If you’re looking for amazing pizza! Johnny Joe’s is a must-visit. Ricky and his team truly made our experience special. We’ll definitely be back—and we can’t...
