This is one of the best kept secrets in Kansas City. Especially during Christmas, the entire Main Street area is lit up.
Update to my original review: I was notified one of my photos had 40,000 views. Thank you to everyone who viewed the photo. I hope ya all try this place out during the holidays. The entire Main Street area is lite up with holiday lights, like the plaza. They used to have a guy with a horse drawn carriage offering carriage rides. I am not sure if they do that anymore. It was located within walking distance from Konrad’s.
🦄 I love coming here to have a nice meal with friends.
🦄 There is plenty of free parking next to the restaurant. It’s across from the train tracks. You can see the Amtrak trains pass by. Amtrack has an active station within walking distance from Konrad’s.
🦄 Inside Konrad’s the place is very clean. On Friday nights they have free live music.
🦄 The food is excellent. I didn’t take photos because I ate it so fast. I wanted the bbq pork nachos but they took it off the menu since I left Kansas City. I got the quesadillas. And my favorite German draft beer to go along with it. I actually called from Portland earlier this year to ask what the name of the German beer was they sold. I found it in Portland at a specialty liquor store.
🦄 Dogs are allowed in. The day I was here, a huge dog was on the patio. Dog was very well behaved.
🦄 I had my niece college graduation party here years ago. Konrad’s was very accommodating to the cake I brought in. The out of state guests liked how relaxed and friendly Konrad’s was. Plus the outside when you are done eating, you can walk around and there is plenty to do.
🦄 The day I went to Konrad’s there was a free concert playing and an Art fair going on. The area around the restaurant is maintained well which encourages one to stay and check out the rest of the area.
🦄🦄🦄 I can’t love this establishment enough. I moved away from the area, but it’s nice to know, you can always go home and get the same level of hospitality as and you left.
Konrad’s is located off the Main Street area in Lees Summit. It’s easy to get too. And you will want to stay after you eat to check out the area.
I love exploring Main streets and it’s refreshing it’s still thriving and...

I’ve been to Konrad’s Kitchen at least a dozen times, and it’s usually a solid 5-star experience all around. Unfortunately, tonight was off for some reason.
There was a mistake with our order—my Bison Burger was ready well before my wife's quesadillas because of a ticket misprint. Our server, Maria M., came over right away to explain the situation and was sincerely apologetic. The food took a little longer than usual, but Maria made up for it with her outstanding service.
She was incredibly attentive throughout our visit. I mentioned my first beer was a bit warm, and she quickly recommended a different IPA that was colder—and it ended up being delicious. Despite being very busy (it seemed like she was covering the whole floor by herself), she never let our experience fall through the cracks.
What really stood out in contrast was the bar staff. We were seated at the bar area, but the bartender never acknowledged us—not even once. He seemed more interested in the baseball game on TV than the guests around him.
Overall, tonight’s visit was a 2-star experience, but Maria M. was a true 5-star highlight. She’s the reason we’ll come back again—and we hope to have her as our...
Read moreMy partner and I decided to try smaller local places we've never visited and chose this place as our first stop. The waitress was very attentive even with the place being very busy. Tables are pretty close to other tables for my taste in the current climate but the older woman continuously coughing behind us with no cover in sight is what made me notice and what prompted us to leave before finishing our meal. We ordered "bones" to start and were satisfied with those. My partner ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and enjoyed it. I ordered the ribeye with sides and I think in the hustle and bustle, my food was maybe neglected a bit by being over cooked. The steak, the fries and the pretzel bun were all burnt. Not just a little but enough that there wasn't much taste to any of it outside of that charred taste. I think we went in thinking it was more restaurant than bar and overall, it feels more bar food like. Probably a really great place to hang out with friends and enjoy the simpler foods and drinks due to...
