Public Announcement please shaređ đ Today me and my family wanted to try La Fuente Mexican Restaurant in Lee's summit on Douglas for the first time. First when we get there we noticed that they seat us all the way in the back by the kitchen going pass over 20 Empty Tables which was pretty strange to me but i didn't say anything. So we get seated and waited 15 plus mins before the door greeter/ door man come to the table and ask what we will like to drink and said "your waiter will be right with you" about 15 more minutes of waiting our waiter comes...(who has walked right pass us over hundred times and never once said ANYTHING) he comes to the table with the drinks and said are we ready to order(Never greeted his self) so we started placing our order, i placed my son order and my order so at this time my men went to place his order and right in the middle of him ordering( without saying anything) the ass hole runs to the back in the kitchen and comes out with some chips and dip for a white couple who just sat down two table in front of us and told the couple he will be back to take their order. Then he want to any empty table and started cleaning it up. The door greeter comes over to us and said he can take our order. So i said why is the waiter not taking our order and he say the waiter told him he was to busy to serve us and for us not to worry about him!! So really he's not busy he just didn't want to serve us cause we are BLACK. So i ask to speak with the manager and he was apologetic and offered us to stay but to go though something like that in front on my 11year old son made me sick to my stomach and at that point my son had already said "mom whats wrong he don't want to serve us cause we black huh?" Its so sad how racist ignorant people are!!! Do not eat there because if they hire people like that, then I'm sure they feel the same way and because none of they restaurants locations are in any...
Read moreUpdate: 3/24/17: We decided to give this restaurant another try the other day. I ordered something under the chicken menu and my companion ordered another taco salad. His salad came very watery, like soup in a bowl. The waiter took it back to the kitchen and returned quickly with a new one that was nearly perfect.
A nice change of pace! We went for an early supper for two. There was ample seating and they served us to a booth immediately. The restaurant is very open and includes a bar that can be seen from the main restaurant area but is separated nicely. The wait staff are well dressed in black and white for the most part. Our waiter brought complimentary chips and house salsa. I've included photos of our meals and the chips and salsa too. The chips are nice and thin, which is a sign of quality to me. I did not care for the mild salsa at all, not enough flavor and the tomatoes are canned stewed tomatoes, I believe. I prefer fresh salsa that is full of flavor from jalapeño peppers, cilantro and onion. There's no such flavor in theirs. We requested a spicy salsa and our waiter came back some bit later with a much hotter sauce which I could appreciate. Our meals were pretty good with real cheese and meats. I ordered a dish that is similar to a mixed fajitas but they called it something else. My husband ordered a taco salad and said it was just his size, I thought it looked rather small personally. It needed more meat and veggies for sure. Our waiter left us the bill but never returned to allow us to pay for it so we paid upon leaving. All in all it was a pleasant experience and I left with a snack for the next day. The restaurant was clean, I think it would benefit from a once a month live entertainment venue one weekend a month. I wish we could give a split between stars/adding a half star to this rating. We will give them our...
Read moreHad the opportunity to dine at the La Fuente Mexican Restaurant this past weekend with the family. The building is larger and more spacious then it appears from the outside. The restaurantâs open floor plan is nice and gives a great dining ambience. As we arrived, it was not busy, however, there was one person at the front to seat guests and it did take a few minutes to get seated. Once seated, we were quickly served chips and salsa and provided with a menu. The salsa and chips are quite good. The salsa is a mild blend (good for the kids). The menu contains several pages of entrees and sides to choose from. I was surprised by the number of items contained in the menu, almost too much. I noticed that many of the items in the menu do not come with beans, rice, or any side item. The prices do not appear to alter with or without the sides. There is a section for sides if one chooses to select an item not served with entree of choice. I selected the Fajita Burrito this evening as it came with beans and rice. What was surprising is, the food was served within 5-6 minutes after ordering, which was nice, but also concerning as the food did not appear to be overwhelmingly hot. The burrito was good, but again not very hot. The rice and beans were good, much like other restaurants that I have been too before. My family ordered tacos and burritos, and the food was much the same was mine, not very hot. The service was friendly and responsive to refills to drinks and chips and salsa. Overall, I believe the food was good, other family members did not necessarily feel the same way. While I would be glad to come here again, if someone suggested it, I would not be likely to volunteer...
