We visited Libations & Company on Saturday night with high hopes. The ambiance and branding are undeniably stylish — the vintage aesthetic and speakeasy vibes really set the stage for what we thought would be a great evening.
Unfortunately, the service fell well short of expectations. We waited an unreasonably long time for our drinks, and when they finally arrived, mine was nearly undrinkable — overwhelmingly smoky, like straight mezcal and moonshine. My husband politely approached the staff to ask if we could switch it for something else or at least modify it, but we were flatly denied. No alternative offered, no refund, not even an attempt to adjust the drink to make it palatable. The waitress told us that since the drink had been poured, there was nothing they could do — they’d be “out the money.” For a $16 cocktail, that lack of flexibility and hospitality was both surprising and disappointing.
We left feeling more confused than anything. A place with such well-executed branding should have service to match — but instead, we got slow delivery, overpriced and pretentious drinks, and no willingness to accommodate a guest’s basic request. Curious what kind of margin they’re protecting on a $16 drink if guest experience isn’t worth the cost.
Not sure we’d return unless something changes on the...
Read moreLet me preface by saying that we used to love going to Libations and went fairly regularly, once a month or so. We always brought friends and made a point to recommend Libations to anyone that was looking for a small cozy bar. Since they have grown the customer service has gone downhill.
I took a group of a girlfriends, two from out of town, to Libations after dinner at Third Street (literally, down the street). This night had been planned for months, reservations made well ahead of time. When we got to Libations the owner told me that we didn't have a reservation. I went through my emails and saw that I received a cancellation email at 6:07... while I was having dinner with my friends. I told him I didn't cancel the reservation and he continued to tell me I wasn't on the books and the best they could do was give me a table for 30 minutes. Seriously, it takes longer than 30 minutes to get seated and order your drinks, we would have been chugging them.
Long story short, if they overbook they will cancel your reservation on you without warning. I emailed Libations the next day, allowing them the chance to make it right and never heard back. Unfortunately, that was the end of us going to Libations and we will...
Read moreLooking for a nite out listening to some live music 🎶? Then this is the place to be!
You need a reservation if you want live music (didn’t know this when reserving online) upstairs & that’s $5. I had reserved a couch however found out it was for downstairs, hence no charge. If there are seats open u can gain entry to live music upstairs for just $5. U can order drinks up there also.
We had a small charcuterie board. There are also pretzels 🥨 u can order besides drinks. So eat before u come or go to Poppy’s ice cream 🍦 after.
Downstairs played a variety of old jazz. The couple next to us was nice to talk to. The clothing attire was on the dressier side - the crowd going up, was pretty casual. Hey, u do u!
The cocktails were strong after adding a shot. The pineapple painkiller was tasty. There were some others & if I recall, I will note it by the photo.
It’s a dark place except very low lighting & the windows. I liked it! Plenty of cocktails 🍹 to choose from.
Go check them out. U have nothing to lose but time. So spend it on Libations & Co. Perfect place to stop on ur way yo somewhere else. Unless ur coming for the music. May try it another time just for...
