I Don’t Think I’ll Be Back My wife and I follow the local band X-Parté around various venues in Kansas City. We planned to meet my uncle and his fiancée at Llywelyn’s to enjoy the band’s performance on a Saturday night. We arrived just as the band started and sat at a table near the stage. For roughly 30 minutes we waited on a server to stop to at least ask if we were served as several wait staff walked by our table. Another party of patrons sat down across from us and a server immediately took their orders.
My wife went to the other patron’s table to ask the server what does it takes for our table to be served after our 30 minute wait. She asked the female server if she thought we were invisible being virtually the only African Americans in that part of the establishment at the time we had sat down.
The server sat down with my wife for several minutes explaining why our table was overlooked and finally took our order. My uncle arrived and sat down with us and the server displayed prompter service. She came by to ask for refills a couple other times. However after I asked to pay for the tab the server asked if we wanted her to bring back change from the two twenty dollar bills. I said yes. I failed to count the change but left an eight dollar tip for her. I later realized the server brought back change less five dollars.
I don’t understand why the server would think her service was worth eighteen dollars after not acknowledging our presence for almost an hour, nor why she miscounted my money. So I simply will not darken the threshold of this...
Read moreI had a great time with friends at Llywelyn's Pub the other weekend! My friends and I initially came for a few drinks and some food. The food menu had Irish favorites like fish and chips and burgers but you can find classic bar favorites too. My partner ordered a veggie burger with sweet potato fries, and we shared spinach artichoke dip and pita bread with the table. I thought their drink menu had a lot of options especially with beers! We came on a Saturday not knowing there would be live music.
The band playing the night we came were so good! The lead singer and guitarist both killed it! All of us a had a wonderful time dancing and singing along to classic party favorites. My parents ended up joining later in the night and we ran into the parents of my boyfriend's friend too. It ended up being a big group and our server Bri (?) was awesome! I wish I was more confident about our server's name because she was so great. From the time we arrived before music, to the time we left after music we always had filled waters and if we needed anything we were able to order quickly. Overall my friends and I had a great experience at Llywelyn's Pub and I'd...
Read moreI enjoy my experience every-time I’m here. However on multiple occasions I’ve had the worst experience with the bartender Larry. I’m always so giving and kind. He always has the worst attitude. Yet I’ve brushed it off and moved on. The last last time I was there I couldn’t look past his unprofessional rudeness. I drink High Noons. I order anything but Cherry due to an allergy. Larry was our bartender and I ordered another drink. He brought me cherry. I kindly explained I’m sorry but I’m allergic. He was so frustrated walking away shaking his head pouring out the can and throwing it harshly. I felt so unfortunate and didn’t mean to upset him. I think as a bartender in consumer service you could be a bit more understanding of the situation. Especially when I explained to the other bar tender my allergies and he just brought a different kind. Definitely a discomfort and hesitation of coming back. This is not the first time he has been rude during service. Just be kind. In your position it’s important and makes us feel more comfortable in the establishment. Lose...
