I agree with the last review. I’ve literally never posted a bad review anywhere, but when I’m paying $9 for a drink I’d like it to be what I paid for. I’m extremely cautious with my money, but I wanted to try something new since my friends were going and I needed a boost for studying. I bought the Cookie Dough Protein Shake and it came tasting just like peanut butter. My friends all tried it and said the same thing. There was no taste of cookie dough. I looked back at the menu and there was no mention of peanut butter in it. I don’t like peanut butter personally and I’m so glad this didn’t happen in the case that I was allergic to it. Anytime I have peanut butter I’m physically repulsed. I throw up from the taste of it. It’s not something I just don’t prefer, which is why I’m a bit upset. I went back inside by myself and had the oddest two minute encounter with what I’m assuming is the manager or owner. I asked him if it was supposed to taste just like peanut butter and he said it was substituted instead of vanilla for an extra kick. I told him that I really didn’t like peanut butter and I was unaware of this. He basically looked at me unapologetically until I left. I find this incredibly strange because I’ve worked in the service industry for nearly five years and wouldn’t even consider not offering some sort of compensation. This is a store front for Herbalife, a multi-level-marketing company that some have described as “commercial cults” or “pyramid schemes.” Pete is as nice as can be, which is why it’s so sad that he got roped into Herbalife. I was able to look past it for a while because I love the taste of their protein powder, but Herbalife has extremely unethical business practices and I will no longer be supporting them. They overprice their products to funnel money into the top 1% so the people who run these shops (like Pete) have no other choice but to waaaay overcharge for what you’re given. Last time I went, I got my favorite shake but they were out of the tea I always got so I went with their recommendation. I was not told this “tea” was an extra $7 (and not even actually healthy) so a shake and small tea came to $15 or $16. I was so shocked I just paid and swore to never support these businesses again. Pete could open an actual small business and do extremely well (he’s so kind, cares a lot, appears to run a tight ship, and is really personable), so this isn’t against him at all.
