Iām not one to write reviews, but today was my breaking point. I enjoy (maybe enjoyed is a better word) love, coffee because itās the closest coffee shop to my house thatās not a starbucks and typically like to support local if I can. When I have gone in the past, I try to be cheery and kind to be people. Itās rarely reciprocated as other reviewers have mentioned about the managerās demeanor. Not kind. A little cold. But whatever the service is quick and most other staff members a kind when I interact. But today, it is a day where we, as a family, had to make a tough decision to put our family dog of 13 years down.. I wanted to make his last day a special one - which meant a nice BIG pup cup. I pulled up to the window (mind you I am border line bawling at this point as I am on my way to see him for the last time), and I ask for one small pup cup for the pup in the passenger seat. Then I prefaced this next ask by literally saying, āAnd can I get one BIG pup cup in a larger container for my dog at home, itāll be his last one.ā Again, as I am CRYING. She said āNo, we canāt do that. I can only do small ones.ā
Still in a kind way, but obviously frustrated, I say.. āItās going to be his last one we are having to put him down today, you canāt get a larger cup?ā Whipped cream is not expensive. I doubt itās cutting into their profit margins too drastically. She said in an annoyed unsympathetic tone ālet me go askā - almost rolling her eyes at me - comes back and eventually I get the larger cup. Again, no iām so sorry for your loss. No amount of customer service (honestly no humanity in it - how can you be serving someone who is crying whose dog is going to doggy heaven that day and have ZERO sort of reaction? Even fake it a little??)
I donāt except the world to be catered to me. I understand that not everyone is a dog person. I even offered to pay for the extra whip cream. So, I didnāt feel like it was an unreasonable ask. But a little human decency goes a long way.
I really hope you read these reviews and actually care to address this and shift some attitudes behind the counter. Maybe this is a me thing, but it took away a little of my joy giving it to him knowing that where I got it from was not cheerful in the slightest and rude and mea during a very sad/emotional day. There was not much LOVE in this coffee. or pup cup.
Iāll drive the extra 10 minutes to go elsewhere from now on and will be sure to share this experience...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreāļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Love Coffee in Leeās Summit (off 150 Hwy) continues to impress! The menu has really expanded since I first visited when it opened. They now have a drive-through and a nice outdoor seating area, which makes it even more convenient.
I always grab the protein peanut butter balls; theyāre my favorite, and the coffee is always flavorful and consistent. I noticed they recently added egg bites to the menu, so I decided to try one. I did see on the board that the āsā was crossed off, so I knew I was only getting one, but Iāll admit I was a little surprised by the size for the price. However, after eating it, I was actually satisfied and pleasantly surprised by how filling it was.
The staff is always so kind and helpful. They even offered to remake my coffee when I forgot to mention my creamer preference, which I really appreciated. Iāll definitely keep coming back. šāļø...
