Main Slice is a true gem of downtown Lee's Summit. Everytime I'm there (which is fairly often, I must say) I am greeted or welcomed in, the staff is super friendly and can have pretty interesting conversations. The pizza is next level! A very unique crust, a little thicker than thin crust but a scrumptious amount of crust at the end of the slice. All the ingredients are fresh and smack your mouth into Flavortown, even if you aren't expecting it. I ordered a Build Your Own, 9" with sausage, jalapeños and green peppers for to go. Got home, opened that box and I couldn't help but enjoy each slice they cut for me. Excellent place for kids (I don't have any, but lots of families seem to love this joint), an excellent bar that always has cool people working behind it, and the atmosphere is great. All different kinds of music playing, for my music people out there, customers are all cool and aren't rambunctious for you bar crawlers. A great place to let loose and watch the game after a rough day.

Two of us split the goat cheese and grape salad. Portions are huge ($16 though) and the salad was delicious. The chicken was mildly over cooked but everything else was great, including an amazing vinaigrette. Probably won't happen, but next time I'm going to try to order this same salad with romaine lettuce. We also ordered a $4 slice of pizza (meat lovers style). It was for her and she loved it. I thought it was a bit dry. The service was incredible, period. Friendly, happy, accommodating, timely, etc. They received double of our typical good service tip. Lots of TV's with a variety of programming. Good place to watch a game either at the bar, tables or booths. We really enjoy this place! Highly recommended!

Ordered the pretzel bites $5, a calzone$11.50, and a 14" 3 topping pizza with 2 of the toppings on one half and the 3rd topping on the whole pizza $17.50. It was $45 with delivery fee of $5 and a 10% tip of $5.15. The calzone was okay but half remained un-eaten and will probably get tossed. The pizza was terrible with a burnt crust, too thin, off-taste, and extremely greasy (we ended up throwing away 3 slices). It was like an imitation of new-york style with a terrible execution. It came quick which is good, the order was correct, and the pretzel bites were great! If you are thinking of ordering what I did skip the disappointment and get 7 orders of the $5 pretzel bites.

Update 2: A few friends of ours wanted to grab a few drinks for the birthday girl in our group, so we quickly popped in to Main Slice roughly twenty minutes before closing. Nigel (who I wrote about before) was our server, and he did another absolutely PHENOMENAL job taking care of our party. I'm quite glad to see that he's still around because he is hands-down the best server I've met anywhere. Keep up the good work!!!

Update: We returned to Main Slice this evening because our oldest son asked for pizza for dinner. We went in and had the best server imaginable. Nigel was attentive and a great listener. Our littlest son has a dairy allergy, so he can't have 95% of the things on the menu. I noticed one of the salads listed had some berries and chicken as its toppings, so I asked for tiny portions of them for him to eat while we munched on our respective slices. Nigel obliged and communicated with me about the cost of those small cups of toppings -- which were appropriately priced and an ample amount! He checked on us several times throughout our stay, and he even got the boys' food to us at the same time thus preventing any frustrated or jealous kiddos (our sons are 10 months and 3 years of age). I sure hope that Nigel gets some sort of recognition because I haven't gotten that good of service anywhere. Thanks for making our experience so wonderful, Nigel. You rock! Oh, and the food was amazing as always!

My minimal BS/Personal experience review:

Pizza: 3.5 out of 5. Above average, tasty, a little pricey but, look at the area. Specialties are great, and you can buy it by the slice. High-five.

Atmosphere: Downtown, hip, fast paced, has a bar and TVs. Decently located and spacy seating. High-five.

Staff: Super friendly, helpful, and chill. Nuff' said.

My experience: SALADS. LET'S TALK ABOUT SALADS.

I am a average hight, semi-overight, average dude. I like pizza. I got a salad combo with my pizza because, I need to stop being fat. So instead of a ton of pizza, I thought I'd have a just a little bit of both.

WARNING: THESE AREN'T SALADS. These are AMAZING LETTUCE DESSERT TREATS OF HAPPINESS.

My "salad" was a monsterous bowl of veggies mixed with bacon, fruit, candied walnuts, and a MAPLE VINAIGRETTE that I'd easily punch a kitten for if that was the only way I'd get some more.

My wife got a different salad. Just as excellent. Just as tasty.

So, come to Main Slice Salads and get yourself some ridiculously tasty lettuce treats.

Oh, they have pizza and stuff here too.

For real though. Great place. Will absolutely...

Okay, I have no problem with this place besides me and my very judgmental ways of prices and food but again this is me and not you just my opinion. I had the garlic cheesy bread appetizer. It was good but, it was thin and even though it had great flavor it didn't have a lot of cheese on it well not enough in my opinion. It cost me $7 and I didn't feel like it deserved that price. Now once again this is just me but I think $5.75 or even $6 would have been a great price for this appetizer. After that I decided not to do a pizza so I got a salad a Chicken Caesar Salad it was huge and there was a lot of chicken in it and it tasted wonderful even the Caesar dressing was a new experience for me. But it was $9 and I understand that even though it was huge and it had salad, chicken, croutons and shredded cheese it was a little too expensive but maybe that's just me and my small-town ways because I'm used to them being anywhere from $7 to $7.99. Anyways it was a new and interesting experience and even though the prices are kind of big and expensive it is very good food I liked it and would go back again just to try...
