We have never had Minskys pizza before- after the suggestion of my daughter we decided to dine in on Memorial Day. We called to check the hours and were told not to forget to forget to ask for the coupon 20% discount. We arrived and there was no other people in the restaurant. We ordered our Appetizer and Pizza. We were never checked on - never asked if we wanted anymore water. 45 min later our appetizer arrived at our table. We then waited an additional 20 min and still no pizza. We had our 5 month old grandbaby and the 1 hr wait was getting too long for her. We finally asked the server if it was gonna be long- she came back by to seat someone else and said they were still waiting for the pizza. At that time we decided to just take the pizza to go. The server then came over and apologized and said she was cooking and serving and was an hour and half back on Togo orders. I totally understand being busy and where I think they were lacking was in the communication. They could have told us about the wait and we would have likely went somewhere else. Shame on the management for putting the workers in that position. Knowing you have a coupon for 20% off you should expect a lot of business. There was poor planning on their part. After coming home and eating our pizza it was not close to done on the bottom - completely white - no golden color. I think it was rushed through the pizza oven to appease us. This was probably the last time we visit this location. My daughter swears the food and service are better at the location near them in Lenexa. The one positive was the Alfredo Rolls we got were delicious. 😋

I’m serious when I say this. I love pizza. Even bad pizza, I will still eat. However, I couldn’t take more than 2 bites and having to spit the 2nd one out. My wife did the same. This was the worst pizza I have ever had in my life. Not even joking. The top was burnt, but the crust was like literal sandwich bread. Never experienced this before. It was like they took a frozen precooked pizza crust and thawed it, put the toppings on it, then heated it up. What makes it worse is the price, the service, and the 48 min wait with an infant baby for a takeout pizza. We came in and waited almost 10 minutes to get help. Eventually we went to the receptionist and asked for help. She said she would send someone. Took another 6 more minutes after that. The bartender came in and out of the room 3 times and didn’t even tell us it would be a second or apologize. Then, I timed it as soon as we ordered and it took 32 minutes to bring it out. We’ve been excited to try this place since we moved here since we’ve heard that it’s a staple in the community and has been around for a long time.

Our server Nu Nu (?) was fantastic, very prompt and friendly. The pizza on the other hand was average and no like a normal Minsky's. The cheese was very light, Casey's pizza would had been better. Service was A+ and the atmosphere was warm. Note: Stay away from the iTunes juke box. First two songs I selected had no volume, let NuNu know and she had to turn it on from a switch around the corner on the wall. She refunded the credits for the missed songs. The screen shows 12 credits for $5 however, it's really 6 songs as they are 2 credits each unless its an unpopular song then maybe 1 credit. So it's really a rip off as you'll miss the first two songs while selecting the next 4. Room to improve on the pizza, not the expected quality for the most expensive pizza in KC. Because the pizza wasn't anything special I doubt we'd return to this location. The one in Blue Springs is hit/miss on accuracy.

Wow... this place use to be good... not any longer. It was not great the last time I went customer service wise, but wanted to give it a chance. This time though was a nightmare. Took 4 employees to verify they have a Monday night kid's deal. I ordered the marinated chicken sandwich with onions and mushrooms, no cheese. Kids got their cheese pizzas.

First time it came out covered in cheese, fries moderately warm but definitely over done.

Second time took quite a while to come back out, and one kid was already done eating, they brought it out there were no mushrooms or onions, but at least no cheese... took a bite and the inside was ice cold... seriously really really cold. Fries were the same fries and now barely room temp.

Third time both kids were done (water was gone for the oldest) and I was ready to leave, but determined to try to make the best of it... finally got the sandwich which was quite hot throughout, no onions, no mushrooms (thankfully no cheese). Fries completely cold as it was the same fries as the first time. Tried to eat the sandwich and it was dry and quite a few fatty places and the outside was chewy and hard to rip off. I finally gave up after eating maybe a quarter of it.

Informed the waiter that they should replace the fries next time as they weren't remotely warm. He asked if I wanted to talk to someone, at which I said yes. Took about 5 minutes talking to someone, but have no idea because he never came to talk to me. Waiter finally came back and said he took it off so I was good to go.

Oldest now has a horrible stomach ache from the greasy pizza as well. I'm not happy...

I can honestly say worst experience ever here. Over 1.5 hours at this place, bad customer service. Definitely will NOT be...

My timeline: 6:15 pm: Ordered pizza online, site says allow 45 minutes. 6:45 pm: Went into Minsky's to pick up pizza, was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I had another errand to run, so I said I would be back to pick it up. 7:45 pm: Returned to Minsky's to pick up pizza. Was told that it wasn't ready yet because it had been errantly made (topping had been left off). I asked the hostess if it was not policy to immediately re-fire any mess ups (that was the rule when I worked at this location) because it takes about 15 minutes to fire a pizza. She corrected me that it only takes about 7 minutes. I told her that still didn't make sense because an hour ago she told me it would be 20 minutes, allowing for a re-fire of 15 minutes, my pizza should've been ready 25 minutes ago. She said they were running an hour and a half behind tonight and that my pizza would be ready in 6 1/2 minutes. 8:02 pm: My pizza arrives. I call the manager while returning home with the pizza to ask about a refund since my pizza took 1 hour and 45 minutes to make. The manager told me she couldn't refund me, offered me a $22 credit for my next purchase, told me she didn't know what to tell me about my pizza being an hour late because "nobody wants to cook on a Friday night", and continued to provide rude service while she rushed me off the phone.

TL;DR If you're ordering a pizza on a Friday night, this Minsky's is not prepared for your order because other people also order pizza on Friday nights. If you absolutely must have Minsky's at supper on Friday, put your order in at noon and hope that it will...
