There are a few key points to this review. Atmosphere/decor, food quality, and service level. For atmosphere, there is a bisection of the interior, let's call it a front-half and back-half. The front-half being the section you initially walk into, and the back half being just beyond a large open doorway. The front half was a little stark upon our visit, mostly plain white walls and basic seating, it feels very clean and organized. The back-half is decorated beautifully! The color and detail, the lighting and seating, just all of it. It's so warm, inviting and comfortable and very clean. I'm talking beautiful, flowing art and lights that aren't too bright and add a true joy to the dining experience. Food quality is exceptional, and nothing short of that term would be fitting. During our visit, everything was prepped and made immediately after we ordered it. Between the three of us we had a decent variety of items, and every last one was beyond expectations. The only thing that may sound remotely negative, and this is NOT a complaint, was the time interval between the food order, and food delivery. It took longer than large established chains, but given the incredible quality and freshness of every dish, it was a reasonable wait time. And it was more than worth the wait. Between the delicious food, the warm and inviting atmosphere, and the good company, the wait for food was truly no problem at all. Be sure though to keep in mind that your food is prepared from scratch after your order is submitted. Finally, there is something for everybody here. The selection is so broad that I'm certain anybody would be hard pressed to not find something that appeals to them. Finally, the service. The young lady that offered us our seating, took our order, and brought out our food was perfect. She had a ready smile, excellent manners and smoothly made small talk whilst taking our order. No mistakes anywhere at all. I do not have high or low expectations for service levels. But I do have realistic expectations. My girlfriend and myself go out to eat at least once a week to many different places, so I have a good baseline for comparison. The service at Mint Sushi could not have been better. In the end, I highly suggest to anybody that they give Mint Sushi a try. The incredible variety AND high quality of food alone should make any patron happy. Then you add amazing personnel and lovely decoration around the inner area of the dining room and you have a good time...
Read moreMint is the sushi restaurant where everybody knows your name. You can tell real care has been made to make the restaurant feel friendly, and it works. It also seems very genuine, which was lovely. And did I mention the sushi was AMAZING? Seriously, right up there with much fancier places, though their serving plates could easily compete with those fancy places. The actual restaurant has a real home-town diner feel, complete with 60's avocado walls and vinyl table tops, but that comes with servers who seem genuinely excited to see you, and recognized some regulars. They have photos on the wall of hundreds of people who've celebrated their birthdays there, and I can see why. The restaurant was hopping when we went, which meant delays in the kitchen, but the food was 100%worth the wait. There was a constant flood of people picking up take-out orders, so it's never really quiet. If you're looking to impress a date with the fancy atmosphere, this isn't the right place, but if you're looking for a fun environment and fabulous food, it absolutely is. Not a lot on the menu for kiddos, but they do have some curry and fried rice. When they served us, they split each roll and mirrored it on a huge plate, so we each got half of every one, which was perfect for us, since we wanted to share! There's only one handicapped parking space, but lots of other parking. The handicap accessible section of the sidewalk is right in front of the restaurant, so easy to access. It's a little snug inside, but it would work for someone in a wheelchair. They provide both forks and plastic chopsticks when you sit down, so you don't have to ask for the other one. And did I mention the food...
Read moreAs a Non native I did my homework. Read the reviews and then saw how busy they were on a Monday night. Encouraged, I went in. Had I noticed that they were not open Sundays I would not have. Old Sushi rule because their fish has been sitting since Saturday. Requested two orders of Hamachi to go. Got back to my room and opened the packs. The Hamachi did not look like it was freshly cut. Color and aroma was off. And it was certainly was not fresh to taste. Secondary concern was that I ordered Hamachi and then had to explain to my waitress that Hamachi meant Yellowtail. Like wow, what is she doing in a supposedly Japanese Sushi Bar? Also ordered a spider roll. The menu says that it is a softshell crab, cucumber, Avocado and crab. It may have been parts of soft shell but it was certainly not a whole one as there were no legs which all soft shell crabs have. Felt like it was all prepackaged pieces of everything. And there was no other crab. There was fake crab but it should have been advertised as such in the menu. Felt deceived. All in all it was very disappointing experience for the top rated sushi bar in...
