MY Play Café - Lee's Summit — Restaurant in Lee's Summit

Jackpot! When looking for fun indoor activities for my almost-3-year-old, we've previously travelled all the way to Shawnee for an indoor play area, but we don't need to anymore! My Play is kid focused, which is easily seen in the little details they've thought of, from baby gates for access to the play area and to a separate area for 18 month and younger kids, to the bathroom with a toddler wall-mounted seat, a changing table, wipes, a child-sized fold-down potty seat, and a diaper pail. They are breastfeeding friendly and have multiple options for seating if you'd rather have privacy. Their cleaning procedures are impressive; they block off time between play sessions to clean, and in the 2 hours we were there, I saw them spot cleaning various areas. They have multiple imaginative play areas along with a mini train set and sone ride-on toys; they also have markers to color, various educational puzzles, and blocks to build with. On top of all that, the coffee is delicious and the snacks they offer are yummy, but if your child needs certain snacks or is extra picky, they'll let you bring your own (beverages must be purchased there, though). There’s a full host of things I could rave about, concerning MPC. I’ll start with the basics; it’s clean, the staff is absolutely wonderful, they really care about their patrons & their families, the space is well thought out and they really thought out what toys best fit a communal free play space, the coffee is absolutely delicious, and they create & encourage community. From the monthly events and daily oasis this place is our safe space to play freely and enjoy the company of others; play dates and chance meetings have deepened & developed our relationships in a time I wondered if we’d have anything left.

If you’re looking for a place for a birthday party, LOOK NO FURTHER. The ability to walk into a fully decorated party, with a party host, and barista will give you peace to party without having to plan or think about much other than celebrating. The staff works hard to curate a beautiful experience and keeps the party moving along for you. It was the perfect amount of time and flow!!! This cafe is so cute!! I have a 3 yo who has been suffering some severe cabin fever with the crummy weather we’ve been having, so I’ve been trying to find new places to take her. She loves going to the park more than anything, so finding somewhere inside where she can play and get the wiggles out on days when the park isn’t the best choice, was high on my priority list.

We’re looking to move from OPKS to Lees Summit/Blue Springs area in the next couple months, so I’m trying to get familiar with the neighborhood, too. Not only did I find a fun, affordable place for my kiddo to play, but they serve coffee, lattes, boba, and more! Bonus for mom... gotta stay caffeinated to keep up with that toddler energy.
