I never post reviews but I really felt like I needed to this time. I ordered rapid pickup and got a text that my order was ready. Went in and my order wasnโt on the rapid pickup shelf. There was just someoneโs drink and receipt sitting there. So I gave it a few minutes (about 5) since I had literally walked in right after getting the text that my order was ready. After a guy sweeping the floor went past me and then another guy who was cleaning tables did the same (both without acknowledging me), I decided to walk over to the main counter to ask about my order. The girl at the counter had not previously acknowledged me either, but my order was right on the counter behind her. She handed it to me. She said that people sometimes take orders off the rapid pickup shelf even if they donโt belong to them, so they sometimes keep orders behind the main counter. I understood; I can definitely see people taking advantage of that. I just wished someone (anyone) would have acknowledged me so I didnโt just stand there awkwardly. Also, they forgot to put my bottled water in the bag. I had prepaid and included a tip, and I kinda wish I hadnโt tipped as much. The staff all seemed preoccupied with other things even though there couldnโt have been more than 4 occupied tables in the entire restaurant. Greeting every single customer is something I had to do when I worked in a restaurant. I was told to make them feel seen and make them feel like they matter. A customer shouldnโt feel like theyโre just another number/order to keep the day moving. None of the staff members were rude to me, but it would have been nice to have been spoken to. Or even a simple sign on the rapid pickup shelf that said โPlease go to main counter for pickupsโ or something, so I didnโt have to stand there waiting unnecessarily. When i buy chicken noodle soup i expect there to be chicken and noodles. Drove 20 min back home and went to eat. Nothing. It was horrible. Called for an hour no one answered. I spoke with manager named Brad finally and he said they will make it right. I show up today and the cashier lady was like uhmm. Ok. Extremely Rude. Then she goes to the line where they prepare food and touches her face after touching customers money. Hundreds of peoples money. Probably hasnโt washed hands and gets my soup for me. Another lady working line kept touching her hair and face with gloves on THEN PROCEEDED TO PUT FOOD ON PLATES WITH THE SAME HANDS!! This is only my second time eating at Panera and i have to say they have ruined my experience and i will never be going back. Absolutely disgusting. I have worked in many restaurants and have even taken nutrition classes and i know the correct way a restaurant is suppose to be ran. This place is not ok. They need to get some health inspectors or auditors in here. Management needs to step up game about hygiene. A person working register should ALWAYS wash hands before handling food. I've also ordered catering for our company several times. Once, I was running behind to pick up my catering and they called just to make sure I was ok.
But I had to finally write a great review based on something that happened two weeks ago. It was a cold night and my mother-in-law was staying the evening with us. We decided to order Panera delivery (which we never usually do). When the order arrived, the other "half" of my MIL's you pick two was missing.
I called up to the restaurant kind of frustrated (who likes to have part of their order missing?) and the manager of the restaurant went out of his way, literally, to correct the mistake. I don't want to go into all the details of how well he took care of this, but suffice it to say that he made loyal Panera Bread customers out of us.
