I was unsure whether I should make this 3 stars or 4 stars. My dad and I decided to come here after not going to a Red Lobster in a few years. We first went to the Red Lobster in Independence but they told us it would be over an hour wait, when the lobby and parking lot were practically empty, leading us to believe there may be a staffing shortage. So we decided to head over to the Lee's Summit location. Here they told us it would be a to 10 min wait which ended up being at lease 20+ mins. Right as we were about to leave we were called to be seated. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. 10/10 to her. But the wait time for our food was crazy! We arrived at right around 8 and didn't go home until 10ish. Some folks around us left because of the wait and you could tell those who were still seated were agitated. At at least two points during our meal we could hear the employees/cooks/waiters/etc. in the back LOUDLY shouting at each other over something. At one point a waitress exclaimed that the door to the kitchen needed to be closed right now because of the volume being heard in the dining room. The shouting probably explains why there was a long wait for food. When we did receive our food it was pretty good! The lobster dib app was tasty. Our feasts were well done- scallops, shrimp, and crab legs tasted great, though they did run out of the steak. There were a few mishaps with what we ordered. I got an extra piece of lobster that I didn't order (I'm not complaining!) and our sides were either wrong or missing but our waitress was great at getting that fixed. So our waitress was great, the food tasted good, but unless this was a one time issue be ready for a wait and maybe some shouting from the back while you eat.

This restaurant is under new management, I believe, and I hope the higher ups will also read my review to be able to improve on and be more competitive in this market. First of all the positive ones, the staff are nice and friendly. The biscuit is free and is quite delicious with its cheesy, buttery taste. The steak is tasty with the right amount of condiments on it. The quality and texture of the steak is another subject to start with the negative ones. The meat is tough to chew on though it tastes good. The price is the same or even cheaper with the other restaurants on the area within the vicinity with a much better cut and taste. The seafood dish is just the same as you can get in any diner. The coleslaw has this overwhelming sourness. My suggestion is to lessen the vinegar on it. The calamari lacks something on it. Maybe, on my opinion, it will shine with parmesan cheese on it. As of now, it is for me, just another diner dish and some diners have better calamari than this. Price is on the “pricey” side compared to the quality of the food. Atmosphere of the restaurant has to improve from gloomy to be welcoming maybe adding light and color. The restaurant has to have a signature dish to attract more customers. It still needs the “wow” factor that we did not taste and see when we visited the restaurant. I hope my constructive notes will be part of management’s brainstorming.

We visited this establishment and waited, and waited and waited for someone to come greet us and seat us at the hostess desk. The restaurant was empty except for one couple who left while we were standing waiting to be seated. I finally had to step around the wall and ask them if there was someone who could come and seat us. Once we were seated our server Kelly came over and completely turned the experience around for us. She was very accommodating, took our order efficiently and quickly got our food out to us. We had the Endless Shrimp and it was delicious. Everything was freshly prepared and hot. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits were fresh and very good as well as our sides. We really enjoyed Kelly's smile and welcoming demeanor. She was awesome!!! Her service completely changed and made our experience at this restaurant so much better. If you visit this location I would recommend requesting her. She is phenomenal at what she does. She's very down to earth and easy to talk to.

My party came in at 430. We had a wait because no staff to seat us. There were other parties before us and 2 left. We sat down and waited for our server because she had told the front don't bogg her down because she has takeout orders too. So we waited at our table. She finally came and we ordered our water and food. We waited again. Finally got our salad. No water. She forgot. Someone else brought it out. We noticed 3 tables that sat after us git their food before us. Our food finally arrived and there were 2 crab special and 1 fish/chips. Our crab was in pieces and still frozen. The waitress was extremely rude telling us it goes by weight. We picked our pieces up and they were so small there's no way it was a pound. The waitress got the manager and tried to tell us they were a pound and she could re steam them. Um..you don't re steam crab because it will be rubbery and when I told the manager the other tables had the same thing but bigger crab she tried to say they ordered a pound and half when I told her I asked them. I also asked the manager to go by the table to see, she didn't. She walked toward the table but then turned away. We waited again for our dinner and it came out. We each got 4 very little clusters that were over cooked with hardly any meat in them. Aa other tables getting their crabs we noticed they were bigger again i asked another table if they got the special and they said yes. It was extremely disappointing from the server to the manager to the food. The quality has gone down and its unfortunate when you see pictures on the menu on other tables and we get not only cold crabs but pieces and know they weren't even a pound to getting another plate which was even worse because they were so small with overlooked steam crab. It's so sad to see how once this restaurant was great to being horrible. Also since when is fish and chips almost? $18 ?and the lateral line is still in the fish. We also had to wait over 10 minutes to psy our bill and I had to.go.to the front only to wait again to have thr hostess find our waitress to pay but the waitress not coming out but the hostess bring our bill back. Worst...

I wouldn’t waste your time coming to this location for cold seafood, poor service with attitude, and a manager who doesn’t do her job correctly. The server, Harrison M. was one of the worst. We had a party of 7 for a birthday. We spend money and we tip large. As I was a server for 8 years. I know the industry very well. I understand being short staffed, but you should make an effort for service with a smile and good customer skills. The server and manager were lacking in both. The food came out at varying times, without any of garnishments that should go with the food such as : lemon, butter, or utensils for crab legs. The crab legs were cold. The steak was medium, and came out rare. It had to be sent back. Everyone was done with their food and the server finally came back out. We asked how much longer for the steak and he didn’t know, it still wasn’t ready. Harrison wasn’t very diligent in checking the table and getting refills. We politely asked for the steak to be taken off and for the check. Harrison responded with, I can’t do anything about that but a manager can. We simply asked for the manager. Now, a good front of house manager knows to come to the table. You should ask the customer, how was everything? I understand the steak took too long to come back out can we get you something else ? Offer a free dinner next time? Is there anything you can do to make it better? An apology would have been nice. However, this manager didn’t come over. We waited another 10 minutes for Harrison to come over hand the ticket to us. We asked if the manager was still coming over and he had a horrible attitude. The manager finally came over, reluctantly, all she said was, I am one of the managers here.. dead silence… at this point if the management in this restaurant is this piss poor.. than there is no hope for the rest of the staff. We just got up and left. Nothing was done for the birthday. Don’t waste your...

NEVER WILL I EAT HERE AGAIN!! Very poor customer service. We had a group of 9 adults and 5 children...we had two waiters. You would think with two waiters the service would be great. They forgot to bring my brother in laws fish out, didnt bring it until we were about to pay. They printed out our checks completely separate so they had to go back an reprint each check with the correct couples on them. Which tool forever! In the mean time my son was in the process of eating the dessert that came with our meal...he took a bite and there was a hair in the ice cream....my mother told the waitress we no longer wanted the ice cream. Didnt even complain. But a manager named Cam came to our table and said he had no workers in the kitchen with long gray hair...practically accusing us of placing the hair in the ice cream....we stated we would not place the hair in our food. And my mom has blonde hair not gray. So for a manager to try and accuse us he obviously doesn't need to be a manager! So we were still waiting on our checks/cards. I even had to ask another waitress to go get our checks. Finally we got our checks and some of us got our cards back. My parents had a gift card they were waiting to pay but the waiter or waitress wouldn't come back for my parents to give them the gift card and money. So my mom and I went to walk out while my dad stayed at the table. The manger then gave my mom a receipt trying to tell us that we hadn't paid...so I stated it's kinda impossible for us to pay whenever the waiter won't come back so he proceeded to tell me that the waiter had to bring our checks twice...so now practically accusing us of trying not to pay?? So my dad went to the front and gave him the gift card and money and told him we will no longer be back! This is the worse place I have ever been to! So if you go to red lobster and Cam is the manager you should turn around...
