My wife and I were visiting KC for an event and went to enjoy breakfast this morning. She is Celiac (Gluten Allergy) and has other food restrictions. I want to clearly state that we aren’t sure that there was any gluten cross-contamination, however, our experience makes us question the full safety of this establishment. My wife ordered her food with no bell peppers and the bruschetta on the side. Her meal came out with both in her skillet, neat and piled high. She sent it back and they brought back, very quickly I might add, what had to have been the exact same dish, but you could tell it had been scrapped apart to “remove” the bell peppers and the bruschetta as it was very messy and flat compared to the first one. After a couple bites, she noticed there were still a few peppers in her skillet and there was spinach in the bruschetta. We asked to speak to a manager and the General Manager, Brandon, came over and he was very rude from the start. He claimed that the waitress did not put the note on the ticket that my wife wanted no peppers and the bruschetta on the side. He also claimed that the kitchen did not deconstruct the skillet and he said he watched them remake the skillet and that the peppers must’ve been left on the grill from another patron’s meal. When we mentioned that we were disappointed as this was harolded to be a safe place for those with celiac and those with food allergies/sensitivities, he said that they take it very seriously. Obviously they do not if they re-serve deconstructed dishes, which makes us question the safety of the food that’s supposedly “gluten-free”. He was very condescending, not taking accountability for anything and blamed it on the waitress and the kitchen. After he left our table, I let our waitress know that he had said she didn’t input the exclusions and she showed us the ticket which stated NO PEPPERS and BRUSCHETTA ON THE SIDE. Not only did he not take accountability, but he threw his waitress under the bus and lied straight to our faces. We were devastated by our experience and will never patronize the chain again as they have broken our trust. They obviously cannot be trusted to tell you the truth, so how can they be trusted to provide safe meals? Anyone who is gluten-free or who has food sensitivities/allergies needs to beware...
Read moreExperienced this place twice. The first time was opening week and we were impressed - with the service, the food, and the atmosphere...Second time was today and if today's experience had been my first experience, it would have been my last. Unfortunately, our visit today went like this: seated at 12:45 and waiting for someone to come by (not even water) for 20 mintues, waiter finally came by and we asked for water - waiter disappeared and no water or service for some time. Order was finally taken but at 1:45 we were still waiting for our food and waiter had not been back. Around 2ish, the manager (?) brought out some food. Two of the three entrees were correct. One entree wasn't even close to what had been ordered and one item was forgotten. Correct food was promised and took awhile for the corrected entree to appear but the other food item still was not provided. Long story and apologies later.... The manager did comp the incorrect entrees and billed 1/2 for the other items. Ultimately, we were extremely disappointed and the food wasn't worth the wait (lack of seasoning, flavorless). Everyone is still struggling with getting back to normal...but come on...I'll pay for good food and good service...but if you aren't going to write down my order and get it right in a timely manner, ensuring I have an acceptable experience at your restaurant, then your planned 50% tip stays in...
Read moreI'm glad there are more resturants at the Summit Fair shopping center. I went in for lunch happy to see a nice big restaurant. I placed my order at the bar because we were told there was a 40 minute wait and no other seating available. I wanted a hamburger and my wife wanted something light. I ordered the only hamburger option they had on the menu which was a monster burger that was about 8 inchs tall. The burger had two patties and bacon which I like and a pretzel bun which turned out like eating cardboard because it was way to tuff. I am a hearty eater a love food especially a good hamburger. It turns out that this burger was made way to tall and the garsments were terrible. I damaged my jaw tring to eat this thing 😫 and on top of that it tasted bad. I have eaten many things in my life but never experienced anything so bad including my jaw hurting and still hurts today but getting better. They need to make a smaller burger with catsup and pickels like most places. Fries that came with it were ok but very small like it was the end of the bag. I'm not going back until they change the lunch menu options. If it were not for my hurt jaw I probably would have not even written this review but I think people should understand that tall hamburgers are bad for your jaws as I found out...
