Recently visited this location with my two favorite guys. Your guesses are correct, my husband and son. My son is ALL about the truffle burgers - which if you know then you know, are limited edition. Aren't our favorite items always limited edition?!? Or discontinued but I digress.
My husband had never had one and was eager to try it, so off we went. Me being somewhat a creature of habit - I played it safe and went with my "go to" which is the double Shackburger w/extra cheese, mustard, pickle, onion - Shack sauce on the side. I asked for the fries to be well done. My husband and son both ordered the Shake Shack Truffle Burger.
Now let me keep it a buck here. As a self proclaimed cheeseburger connoisseur this is not one of the best burgers I've ever had but it was enjoyable. My husband and son both really enjoyed their truffle burgers. Our fries were cooked the way we like - no complaints there.
My husband - poor thing - didn't realize the truffle burgers were limited edition and wanted to go to Shake Shack a couple of weeks later with our son to bond over their new found mutual enjoyment of the truffle burger. When my son informed him they were not being sold anymore for awhile - he was a cross between hurt, mad, sad and indignant. 😆😅🤣
The night we visited this location, Elijah took our order. He was very personable and his customer service was on pointl. He repeated our order back to us to check for accuracy and took our payment with a smile and a "thank you"! He asked us to pull over in the carryout space and promised to bring our order right out when it was ready.
We waited a few minutes and Elijah followed through on his promise. When we arrived home to eat the food was still hot and fresh. Everything was prepared beautifully and we proceeded to devour our morsels.
Elijah was definitely the highlight of our visit and made sure our food was prepared to our order specifications. He provided an experience that made me alter a previous review for this location because he worked to elevate our experience and repair the relationship for experiences we've had in the past here that weren't so pleasant.
Perhaps they're working to turn things around and Elijah is a great step forward in that direction.
So to quick1ly recap here, my husband is bothered he can't get a truffle burger for awhile. This isn't one of the best burgers I've ever had but it was enjoyable. You know it's not what you do but how you do it. Maybe the food tasted better this time because we were made to feel valued as a customer....
Read moreUpdate(weeks later); I have yet to hear back after sending a message to the email that was in their reply. Clearly they want to make it look like the matter was resolved but it has not been. Even more disappointing!
I will start by saying that we love shake shack. However, today we had an horrible experience. We ordered on the mobile app for in store pickup. When we arrived, I opened the door and was met by a very rude employee who told me the lobby was closed. I told him I was just wanting to pickup my online order that was supposed to be ready in two minutes. He told me I need to go through the drive through. This would not be an issue except for the fact that the drive through lanes were long and if you’ve been to shake shack, you know that they are not fast as it’s made to order. I told him that I really did not want to wait an extra 30 minutes in line for food that is either done, or almost done. He again, told me no. I told him I would gladly stand in the rain and wait. He again told me no, to go through the drive through. We already ordered and paid, so clearly this was our only option. We get in line and when we get up to the speaker, no one would answer. We watched four cars go through the first lane and made many phone calls that went unanswered before someone finally got to us. At this point, we were well passed our pick up time with plenty of time to still wait. I asked them to please remake our order so it’s fresh. My favorite part is when we finally get to the window, and were told to go wait in spot 5 for someone to bring us our order. At this point, we’re thinking that this has to be a joke. They really refused to hand me my order through the door only to tell us to wait across the parking lot for their employees to walk through the pouring rain instead? No, they were serious. We go to spot five and wait for them to bring us our order. This entire ordeal took well over 30 minutes from the time our order was supposed to be done. This is something I wouldn’t even expect at a cheap fast food restaurant. We paid over $20 per person to be treated this way. Turning off mobile ordering would have been the first professional thing to do. Expecting customers to wait 30+ minutes while their mobile order gets cold is...
Read moreWe love shake shacks burgers and really want to keep coming back but the experience there is always terrible. I’m not sure if the company isn’t paying their employees enough but they literally do not care and this is across multiple locations we’ve visited. At this one no one cared to greet a guest, interact with anyone in the restaurant, or even smile. Me and my boyfriend played Cornhole it was great. The employee couldn’t find our table on the patio so I met him at the door and all he said was oh we were having some trouble finding you. There were three other tables in there but whatever. I walked back to the table with our food and my bfs burger came out a single instead of a double. No big deal! Manager reacted oddly when my bf said his food wasn’t correct and didn’t offer to get it fixed just took it to the back so we assumed he was working on it. I had already finished and thrown away my food and went to check on his burger but couldn’t get a staff members attention. my boyfriend had to go in 25 minutes after I was finished probably and ask where his burger was. Your entire kitchen team was too busy messing around and chatting to remember one of five persons burgers in the restaurant. Brought out a burger eventually that was completely wrong, we asked for a refund, weren't offered a correct burger or another remake to possibly make up for it and hardly an apology at all. Awful restaurant experience so we went to Culver’s and they were packed full with two lines and YET somehow we got excellent and fast service there. We wish you’d do better...
