My go-to sushi spot. They have a teppanyaki side, and a sushi side. The teppanyaki side (where a chef cooks your meal and about ten others in front of you while you all sit in a circle with the chef in the middle) is always super busy on the weekends between 5-8, be sure to call ahead if you want to be sat immediately. The sushi side usually has open seating, plus a bar in front of the sushi chefs so you can watch them work. The restaurant is cozy but not in the "I'm using cozy but I mean creepy" way. The decor is nice, the tables are spaced out enough so you're not cramped. The music is kind of jarring- I really wish they'd play lo-fi or something less stressful. It's some kind of poppy club beats radio, I almost asked them to turn it down. Literally my only gripe about Siki. The music. That's literally it. The food is fantastic. Everything I've ever chosen- and this has been my favorite for almost 15 years, so when I say I've chosen a lot, believe me! The magic mushrooms are my favorite appetizer, as long as they get to you hot! The crab Rangoon is to die for, and their egg rolls and dumplings are good enough to make a meal out of. There are so many rolls to try- if you're there experimenting for new rolls, make sure you ask for their sushi menu. They also usually have a limited run of rolls, last night I tried their watermelon roll, and like always it was amazing. All of the employees are really nice, I'm so glad Siki survived the mass extinction that was Covid- they kept their food top notch through it all and it shows. They deserve every bit of the line that happens on Saturday night, and I hope to see long lines for the next fifteen years also. I'd happily wait hours for a spot (although I've never had to- the wait is usually...
Read moreI looked into 3 different Hibachi places in Lee summit and this one was in its own building and looked nice despite the fact they had the highest prices. Big mistake! We got there and they were rude and short with us when we checked in and pretty much ignored us when we got to the counter. Once we got seated things only got worse. Our chef was terrible. We have been to lots of hibachi places and have never experienced something this pitiful. Our chef was absolutely was terrible. His jokes were bad and consisted on hitting on everyone at the table. He did maybe 3 unimpressive tricks and couldn't hear half of what he was saying because of his mask. Then he made our food and gave the extra away to the people who didn't order it instead of just giving it to the ones who did which made our plates pretty skimpy. Remember the food was already over priced compared to everyone else in town. Our chicken was over cooked and drowned in teriyaki sauce which basically ran into my vegetable and rice and made everything on my plate a sloppy mess. I would never go back to this place. The waitresses except for one guy who was really funny, were uninviting and cared more about quickly tossing your stuff on the table and getting you out the door then they were at actually serving and being hospitable. We spent over 100$ here and if could get my money back for the 3 chicken meals we paid for I would at least consider returning as the other two meals turned out ok. But at this point and based off of what we experienced customer service wise, I would not hold my breathe on them trying to...
Read moreMeet there tonight to celebrate my nephew's 15th birthday and my husband's 59th birthday who passed away 2 years ago. The server presented in an odd manner like he was somewhat irritated, several of us ordered water with no ice. He made a comment about the no ice and brought one with ice, when it was brought to his attention, he says water/ice, ice melts, water no ice, then walks away. This was a simple mistake that could have been easily resolved. So, we were a table of 9, automatic 18% to server, the food was at least $225 and we can't get water with no ice without the disrespect and rude comment. We were all surprised at this behavior including the kids, but because of the occasion, my son respectfully switched the waters with a plan to have a conversation with the kids later about the adult server's disrespect display toward their grandmother. I understand this may be a simple act, but where has good customer service gone. I would expect this typed of behavior from a disrespectful teen at a low end fast food, not from a grown man at an establishment that charges a good penny for their food. Maybe he figured he was already guaranteed his 18% why provide decent service. Very disappointed!! The chef was entertaining and pleasant, food was OK. The host and other servers were helpful and kind. Will not recommend or consider this restaurant certainly not for our...
