Stuey McBrew's — Restaurant in Lee's Summit

I've been going since it opened. It was my favorite place in downtown LSMO for a long time. I hate to say that it has failed to continue to evolve. The last 2 times I've been have been subpar. Last time they had a severely restricted menu due to staffing problems, which is kind of a red flag for me. Either they don't treat their people right, or fail to recruit high-caliber staff. Today was a trifecta of bad. Bad service, bad atmosphere, bad quality. I think the staffing on a Saturday afternoon was probably lacking, but the bartender acknowledged us, and then went about her cleaning duties rather than serve us. In and of itself not a big deal, but it was more than noticeable, and annoying. My wife ordered a vodka AND grapefruit. It tasted a little off, so we told the barkeep that we think there might have been some confusion over what we ordered. She assured us that it was what we ordered. Turns out it was grapefruit flavored vodka, straight, on the rocks. She didn't think to ask probing questions or wonder why anyone would order a straight vodka drink like that. Again, by itself not a big deal, and should be easily fixed. We then went outside to smoke. While we were out there I was looking around. The Foor was littered with cigarette butts, wrappers, and other trash. This was my last straw, and we decided then to leave after having our drinks. I don't apologize for expecting cleanliness. I believe that the trash is indicative of an establishment on the decline, and a marker of the attitude of the management. I have to say that after seeing the trash on the ground, the poor service and the poorly made drink were not a surprise. I will give Stueys probably one more chance. It is local. I have had more positive experiences than negative. I believe that they have the ability to get back on track and live up to some...

I would give them a 0 star if possible. As a woman I have NEVER been so disrespected by a bouncer named Destin. I asked to speak to the owner and turns out she was the woman right next to him the entire time he was calling me a bich and a$$hole. Now, I know people think reviews don’t give the whole perspective but at 1:10 AM a bouncer (not Destin) came up and told us “finish up your drinks.” He did this twice. I was finishing my drink they just served me 2 minutes ago, bc they close at 1:30 AM and told him that I would be leaving and wouldn’t be here til 1:30 AM. He replied “i can guarantee you that you won’t be here a minute past.” So my friend replied, “is there a reason you’re being such a dik?” This bouncer not even phased moved along but his boyfriend Destin goes “Do you need to leave now…” I told him I was finishing my drink then leaving but then he began to call us bi*ches and a$$holes wouldn’t even let us finish our sentence bc women don’t have a voice unless a man says so. Long story short I asked to speak to manager turns out she was the woman that was standing right next to him the entire time that I even thought it was his gf. Probably was. However my point is don’t Just look at the good reviews bc this one is one that shouldn’t be forgotten and if there was more i could do then I would. Honestly this place used to be so good. But recently the past few visits have been very unpleasant. The food has been coming out slower than usual and not hot at all. On top of that the waiter was not very helpful and seemed like she didn't want to be there. Also typically they don't allow anyone under 21 to enter into the bar after 9pm. WE EVEN CALLED AHEAD AND MADE SURE OF THAT because we have some friends who are just under 21. We called and they told us as long as we arrive before 9 we were good to go, we simply wanted to eat only. We arrived around 8 and when we walked inside to sit down they made us show our ID. When we told them we called ahead to confirm everything was ok they still wouldn't let us sit down to order. Whoever was the morbidly obese bouncer was, refused to get us a manager and said that they don't allow people under 21 to come in after it gets dark outside. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. WE HAD NEVER HEARD THIS NOR HAD ISSUES WITH THIS HERE EVER! After asking him why they lied to us on the phone and he refused to answer and kept trying to kick us out. This place has lost my business thanks to the unprofessional people they call employees.
