New -lees summit location- Our experience with a staff member today was not pleasant. It was clear upon entry that she was not happy kids were coming in.
Once we were inside with the cats, the staff member popped in and mentioned she could hear a lot of screaming. My daughter is 3 and she was not screaming, chasing, or picking up the cats during our visit. When the kittens got playful and would chase toys she would let out a giggly screech of joy and excitement from watching them. I was right there with her to remind her to use a quiet voice but in my opinion screeching for pure joy is not inappropriate. I’m aware some cats are fearful of children or sound sensitive. There should be an age restriction then if kids will not be welcomed in or it shouldn’t be advertised as a kid friendly place to be.
We paid a lot to be there, we’re respectful and appropriate and the staff member could’ve been more kind and engaging. It was my daughter’s 3rd birthday and her only request was to visit the cats.
We had visited a year ago for her 2nd birthday and had an amazing experience which is why we came back.
At the end, I took my son to the restroom and there was a cat in a wire crate in there. If we’re worried about how the cats feel then they probably don’t like being on the floor, or the sound of a flushing toilet or an automatic paper...
Read moreSugar Kittens is an absolute gem! My family and I visited this weekend and had the most wonderful experience. The facility is clean, inviting, and clearly designed with the cats’ well-being in mind. The staff is incredibly kind and caring—not just toward the cats but also toward visitors, making sure everyone feels welcome.
They have a great selection of drinks you can take into the kitty-petting area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. All of the cats were comfortable, happy, and able to show their unique personalities. We completely fell in love with two of them and ended up adopting! The adoption process was smooth, and Sugar Kittens went above and beyond, providing medical history, helpful advice, and even vet recommendations to ensure our new furry family members stay happy and healthy.
I truly didn’t expect to fall in love with a cat that day, but I’m so grateful I did. Thank you, Sugar Kittens, for not only giving us the chance to spend time with these amazing animals but also for helping us find the perfect additions to our family. I have nothing but great things to say and will continue recommending this wonderful place to everyone I know. If you're looking for a heartwarming experience and a chance to support a fantastic rescue, Sugar Kittens is the...
Read moreUnfortunately, I have to leave a two -star review to warn people about this cat café.
We waited about two weeks to get the kitten we wanted to adopt because they said there were illnesses running through the café. When we received our kitten, she was very lethargic, very skinny, and with goopy eyes. They charged us $300 because she was a Siamese.
She came with a lingering respiratory illness and a rash on her head with missing fur that turned out to be ringworm. In addition, one of our back toes were very swollen and she is missing a toenail.
Her respiratory illness and her ringworm has cleared up, but we are keeping an eye on the back swollen toe. It’s been about a month of recovery for her.
The cat cafe did send medicine for her eye and ringworm once we notified them. However, it was a volunteer through the café that vouched for her and pushed her medicine.
It’s important to note that the ringworm medicine we received was labeled for humans and was labeled for jock itch. Since they did try to remedy the situation, I am leaving a two star review instead of a one...
