Short review: Great atmosphere, but way overpriced for what you get. Service was slow and inattentive. Food was very similar to any chain steakhouse like Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse, but two to three times the price. I advise skipping the summit.
Long review: Went on a Saturday night at 9 and the place is split between restaurant and bar. The restaurant side was nearly empty, but as we were shown to our booth we saw several tables that had not been cleared. Our booth was clean and once the hostess seated us our waitress arrived to ask what we wanted to drink. There was only one other table on the restaurant side that had people eating and they left around the time we ordered our appetizer. While waiting for our appetizer they brought bread, not a basket of rolls or some unique flavorful delight, my wife and I were served via tongs a sing flat roll. It was the most plain bread we've ever had at a restaurant. Was the same flavor and texture as the heel of a cheap loaf of white bread at the grocery store. We ordered fried shrimp which came with thai chili sauce and a lime aioli. It arrived with a decent amount of shrimp for two people, but the shrimp was the same as any fried shrimp you would receive at any chain restaurant. The sauces were not very good. The "Thai chili sauce" tasted like ketchup with a little Thai chili paste mixed in. The aioli had no lime flavor at all, it just tasted like mayonnaise, an aioli shouldn't just taste like straight up mayo. For our entree I ordered the Angus filet with smashed loaded potatoes and my wife ordered the fish and chips. The texture of the smashed potatoes was great, but it had cheap processed cheese and bacon, it was salted well, but had no other flavor or seasoning. For a plate that costs $38.99 and only comes with one side I'd expect the side to be amazing. They could have at least put some pepper on it. As for the steak, it was cooked very well, but the taste, quality, and size of the steak were exactly what I've had from Longhorn and other steak houses where the filet costs $22-$26. My wife had the fish and chips. I tried both and found the fries to be rather strange. It had no potato texture at all, it was as if they fried the batter into a french fry shape without using a potato. It wasn't bad tasting, but it just seemed like eating fried batter. The fish was fine, rather plain. My wife often orders fish and chips when it's available and she found it rather average. The price at $22.99 was well above average. As for the service, being the only ones in the restaurant side we needed our waitress a few times, but she was either nowhere to be found or was chatting with the hostess by the front door. Mid meal a busboy finally began to clean the other tables and when we were ready to leave we had to go and ask him to find our waitress so we could get our check and leave. It was ten minutes between asking him to find her and her arriving at our table. In the end we enjoyed the atmosphere, but atmosphere does not make it worth paying $100 for 2 people to eat food you could get at any place that serves steak or fish. If you're in the mood for this type of food, I recommend getting more flavor for less money, save some money and hit a chain, better service, same or better quality food, but more of it and your wallet will thank you, digital...
Read moreGo to this location often, but am turned off by the attitudes of the employees every time. Despite being patient and kind, if you walk in even slightly under dressed you will be getting dirty looks from every staff member, with a drag of the eyes up and down. Most of the time when I go in, I order a dessert to go. Every single time, I’ve been asked if I want that made all warmed up. Yes, absolutely. This latest time, I go in and experience the same disrespectful attitude from the hostess I usually get if i’m wearing sweat pants (to pick up my to go dessert). I am given no option on the dessert to be made ready for me to eat, and the hostess even turned around and walked away while I was mid sentence ordering- I was going to continue ordering more, but because she cut me off (without giving me a total price) I only got to order one. Because of the attitude, I didn’t bother calling out to the already gone hostess about my second item. She came back, and said “9.xx” so I hand her $10, smile and say thank you. She enters her information in, and informs me it’ll be a minute. No change, no explanation. Upon receiving the dessert, I found it room temperature and crusty. I had obviously been given a piece that was sitting out or old, and the toppings on the side (it’s a dessert that’s specifically supposed to be baked/warm with a super gooey sauce)
At this point i’m actually kind of upset about it, because this has never happened before when paying cash here. I ask hostess simply for my change back but am told they “don’t give back change” (after receiving no warning that I would have to overpay) with a scoff and dirty look from the young blonde girl. Because of not receiving a warning, and the chagrin look of the girl, I have no way of knowing if these employees are pocketing this change or this is actually standard (Always been asked if i want change). When asking management about the whole situation, because at this point I was a bit peeved, they were, again, extremely condescending. The manager didn’t actually address the idea she would be taking my concerns seriously, and her only response was “You want your 30cents?” She ignored my concerns about the food, and not being asked if I wanted it actually baked like always. This was never about the 30 cents, but her offering it up so quickly after being told multiple times by the hostess they absolutely do not give change back was also kind of suspicious. The employees here are always super rude and condescending if you aren’t dressed to the nines just to get your to go order. I’ve never been rude but always get sneered and scoffed at, especially when paying cash. If i’m dressed up/pay with a card, everyone is ridiculously sweet. The difference in service is actually astounding and disgusting.
Disappointing considering the food actually is good, but not when you get it cold and not even cooked. I don’t wanna pay $10 for a dessert just to have to go home and literally make it myself. At least make sure your employees are consistent at being...
Read moreHad lunch today with 2 friends. The terrible experience started the second two of us walked in the door. There was no one at the host(ess) station. We were there probably 5 minutes before a young lady came to take care of us and around 6 other people. We had a reservation, we told her the name, but she didn't even look to check on the reservation, then rudely asked how many. As we were taken to our table my friend kind of chuckled, and she turned around, and again in a rude tone said "what?" She also brought 3 menus but only 2 sets of silverware. Our server asked for our drink order. We went ahead and asked him to bring our friend a glass of water, and a large bowl of Lemons. He brought out 2 drink orders only. When our friend arrived she asked for a glass of water, a glass of tea, and a large bowl of Lemons. When he took our order, he asked if it would be on one ticket or 3. We said 3. Of the 3 orders, only one was correct. We had to ask multiple times for refills of tea, every time he passed our table. And one friend who had asked for extra dressing, had to ask at least 2 times for it. When we decided we were done and wanted to get out of there, we asked for the bills. He again asked if it would be one bill or 3 separate bills. When he finally brought the bills, he had to look at our plates to know who got what bill. We also observed that a table next to us was having problems with the server as well. When we wasked out the hostess never said a word to us. Usually when you walk into a restaurant you are greeted with a smile, and a pleasant greeting. Not today. And usually as you are leaving someone wishes you a good day, and hope to see you again. We will not be going back. The food was...
