The food was very good and the portions are just enough to feel full without over eating. We went for a late lunch when there were only a few people there and no line at the register. Even though there was no line it still took about 5 minutes for someone to come to the counter to take our order. Now, this is the part that makes my opinion of this place lower. Throughout the restaurant there are TV's set up with various things playing, during my visit the one that was across the table from us was playing a movie that seemed extremely inappropriate for general public viewing, especially if there are children frequenting the restaurant. The movie that was playing was a gore filled horror / slasher film called The Collector (2009). It's pretty graphic, not just during the film but also during the credits and is not exactly something to enjoy while eating. While I don't think that movie was intentionally put on someone might want to check what's playing for their patrons as I'm sure this could result in a full "Karen" episode if it were to happen with the...
Read moreMy wife, toddler, and I went last night for the first time. I frequent taquerias in KCK and SW blvd often for lunch. My favorite has always been El Camino Real. Not to name-drop, but I wanted to add a reference knowing that people might get a better idea that this is not your "Carlos O'Kelly's" place. This is the real deal. It's fast, fresh, and simple. I felt the price was on par for DT LS, but the food exceeded my expectations. I went with street tacos al Pastor. I think they were pan-cooked rather than spindled but the pork was still crispy yet tender. Hard to do in a pan, btw. Tortillas felt fresh and the onion and cilantro was crisp and now aged (like I've had on some taco trucks). Our toddler loved the kid's quesadilla and my wife was a fan of her flautas. I will say they have food for the picky eaters. If you have a youngster who is in the "chips and cheese" crowd, and not an adventurous eater, this place will...
Read moreAfter hearing so many people rave about Taco Holics Club in Lee’s Summit, I was excited to finally try it for myself, and it did not disappoint. The menu is impressive, with so many options ranging from unique tacos and burritos to bowls, dips, and even sandwiches. It was tough to choose, but we decided to start with the cheese dip and then try the Quesa-Tacos, which we were told are among the most popular items. Both were absolutely delicious, and we enjoyed every bite.
The dining area was clean and welcoming, and our food arrived quickly thanks to the friendly staff. Overall, everything about our experience was excellent, and we are already looking forward to coming back to try more...
