Yesterday after I left the graduation, I decided to take my son out to eat at Texas roadhouse when we got there they had just opened so we were one of the first few families in line 3:45 pm. When I got to the hostess stand with my son, I told the lady it was just two of us, The girl, I think her name was Melissa or Melinda she had reddish hair, Was hosting. She literally looked in my face and went to the people behind me and said how many? Gave them their ticket and they were able to get seated meanwhile I'm still standing at the hostess stand and she looked behind me and gave another couple a ticket and they were able to get seated. The lady said ma'am she was here first and did the hostess care?? NOPE! she continued to give them their ticket and they got to have a seat, me and my child we're still standing at the hostess stand and the hostess cleared the line!!! the girl stared in the face and didn't even respond to the fact that even I said she was skipping over me! I was ready to leave. I was so upset, but my son wanted to eat so I had a seat and I waited for somebody to acknowledge me. All of the servers kept staring at me being treated unfairly and no one stepped in or anything. The hostess after 5 min " I'm sorry did I give you a ticket?" I replied no you did not and I explained to you three times that I was here for two people and you let everyone go but me. She gives my ticket to the black waitress instead of putting it in my hand , And then ask her to go ahead and seat us! .. there's no reason I even had to sit in the waiting section when you just opened. And I hate to call people racist but this little girl had an issue with me and I don't even know her and it wasnt even busy! You just opened! ... At the end of my meal, when I was walking out, I looked towards the hostess stand, and the girl literally looked at me and rolled her eyes as if she knew me from somewhere and didn't like me, but she has no reason because I do not know her! I will continue eat here but I hope that someone fixes her attitude because it's terrible and screams I don't like...
Read moreThey make a fabulous steak here, but their hostesses leave something to be desired. They look about 12 and one has a severe attitude problem.
We had been on the list for over an hour for our "15-20 minute" wait, and I witnessed several groups come in after us (the same size as ours) and give their names to get added to the list. I know they were added fresh, not call ahead, because we were seated right next to the host stand and I heard the hostess ask them that questions and receive a "no" response.
The hostess skipped over us multiple times in seating people and was super snarky and rude when I asked about our status after the second group was seated ahead of us. She even went as far as to move us down the list when she saw me go speak to a manager after the third group was seated ahead of us (I overheard them talking about how surprised they were to not have to wait longer since they didn't call ahead). The manager did seat us right away once I spoke to her, but it should not have come to that.
Fun fact- I showed the manager my text message from getting on the list through the app over an hour earlier to prove the time and she cross references it on the list at the stand. I saw the list- she had moved us down below about 15 other names. When the manager saw the list she sent the hostess to the back saying, "I need to talk to you after I seat them." I don't know what the girl's problem was because we were nothing but nice and didn't even check in on how long it would be until she had skipped us the second time. Hopefully she got a dressing down when the manager went back to talk to her; she was not at the host stand when we left.
Once we got seated, everything was fine. We went there almost every week for 2 months bc I had appointments out there. Our waitresses were always excellent and the steak was probably the best in town. We had planned to continue coming here for our weekly family outing after my appointments ended, but this experience soured us on the place. We are back to going to the one in...
Read moreWell, that was terrible. We used the app to check in ahead of time, arrived at 5, and when we checked in with the hostess station, we asked if we still needed to mark the app to check in. She responded, "No, you are all checked in." After waiting over half an hour, we went back up to see what was going on and we're informed that actually we hadn't been checked in and had just been sitting there waiting for no reason. We finally get sat and are immediately aware of the cold wind blowing down on our entire table. I'm talking frigid. We mentioned it to our server right away and he informed us that he has already talked to the manager for previous guests and was told that they could not adjust the temperature. We were a 6 person table and there was no where else for us to sit so we suffered there for about 45 minutes while we waited for our food. During this time, we went out to our vehicles and managed to rummage through them and find some jackets and blankets. Let me say that again, in the middle of May in Missouri we had to get blankets and jackets to eat in this restaurant. We were sitting on our hands to keep them warm. When the server saw this he mentioned that the last group also went out and got blankets from their car. After our food arrived, the server spoke to the manager again and told us that the temperature would be adjusted. Nearly a full hour later we finally felt the ac cut off, as we were getting up to leave. We were there nearly 2 1/2 hours, had multiple issues, and never saw or heard from a manager. Our poor server had to act as their messenger boy since they couldn't be bothered with stopping by to talk to us. To top it all of, on our way out my poor 4 year old was standing by the family bathroom squirming and doing her best to try to not pee herself while we waited our turn, just to have the door open and an employee in uniform walk out after they finished using it. Thanks for the terrible mother's day dinner...
