Upon arrival I was ignored and other guest were taken care of before I was addressed. Their phone was off the hook beeping no one even noticed I pointed it out to them and no one even bothered saying thank you. A waitress pulled the menu out from underneath my phone as I was using my camera. I’m not for sure if they care if they took my money or not. I hope the food is good because then maybe I can give him a boost in the rating. I was really hopeful and had heard great things about this place but my experience is not prove to be that so I don’t know that I’ll be back.
Update:
After the discovery of how bad my service was just to place an order the management tried To make it better and apologized profusely for all the troubles.
OK so I got my Take out. Home to try.
The crab Rangoon gets a 10 out of 10.! The pastry was so crisp and delicate and the inside was so savory and creamy they could not of done a better job. Bravo extreme perfection. Some of the best I’ve ever had.
The Pad Thai. I give it a 3 out of 10. It was OK but I’ve definitely had better here in Lee Summit at MaliThai Bistro.
The soup Tom Kha... 4 out of 10. This is what I actually came for. I was super disappointed. The chicken pieces are really big that’s why it gets a 4! If you want to soup that’s pretty bland this will make you happy. The soup here is just not my cup of tea. My previous experience with this soup is nothing that of blandness. It’s usually a very savory creamy rich coconut broth. This soup is usually a pallet pleaser. Here it was just so so. The best I’ve ever had was at Manne Thai in Manchester Missouri.
The Mai Thai gets a 10 out of 10!!! The bartender made this drink an absolute winner. It was just as it should be. The garnishment made it look delectable as ever.!!!
So for me at this point in time I’d say I go back for a drink and appetizers. I’d like to give the sushi a try and dessert. After my next visit ...which I’ll give them a chance I’ll give this post an update on how dessert and sushi went!!!
My leaving remarks would be if you make it to Manchester Missouri it’s approximately 20 minutes outside of St. Louis go to MANNE THAI Their appetizers, soups (Tom Kha) my personal favorite the meal (drunken noodle) or curry chicken and for drinks this place...
Read moreMy first visit here was at the independence location which was excellent! This second visit at the lee’s Summit location was pretty terrible. My 9 year old son and I ordered the Philadelphia roll and crab Rangoon for him and I had the seafood pad Thai that came with a salad. My entree was served first, with my sons sushi coming out 5 min later. Some of the seafood was cooked all the way and some was not to the point where it was still cold in the middle, I pushed it off to the side. My son and I were both starving but no excuse we probably should have gotten fast food. The sushi roll was put together poorly but for a hungry 9 year old it was fine. We were half way through our meal before the server noticed we had not got our salad and I had to point out that we still had not received the crab Rangoon. We were seated right by the open kitchen door and I could see all food as it was brought to the counter. The Rangoon were sitting there throughout our entire meal not under a heat lamp and came out ice cold and not even fried all the way, the dressing on the salad was straight sweet chili sauce, which in my opinion gross. The woman that put all the garnish on my plate did not use gloves or tongs but used her bare hands. Ready to eat food should never be touched with bare hands, but I was giving benefit of doubt and hoping her hands were clean... not smart on my part. I told the server about the quality of food and she took off the crab Rangoon. I am a chef and I understand walking into any restaurant I don’t expect excellence but I do expect the basics. As well, servers were pretty unprofessional, complaining to coworkers about having to buss tables and woman in back complaining and cursing about the smoke in the kitchen all in ear shot of a kid. Will not be back to this location... very...
Read moreMy husband and I love Thai food, so we decided to give this place a try for dinner last night. It wasn't bad, but it isn't worth returning.
We got the Sampler as an appetizer along with a dragon roll. The server didn't bring the soy sauce until after we had eaten the dragon roll, but it's okay. We got along without it. The sampler was good.
The server warned us a couple of times that their spice level runs hot, so to keep that in mind while ordering. My husband ordered Pad Thai with a mild heat level. He said it was fine, and he received a large portion.
I ordered Cashew Chicken at their mild plus level thinking that would be close to a medium at other restaurants. What I got was a very small dinner portion...even my husband remarked on how small it was compared to his...almost no spice at all, a tiny portion of rice, and they forgot to put the cashews in my Cashew Chicken. The server came back to check on us halfway through our entrees, and they did end up bringing me a small bowl of cashews because we didn't have time for them to cook my entree again.
My almost 2-year-old daughter had the chicken nuggets and French fries. While that isn't Thai food, it's worth noting that they charge $5.95 for kids' chicken nuggets and if you'd like French fries, they charge an additional $1. Definitely overpriced for a kid's meal.
The restaurant was decently clean. My daughter found gum stuck under the table and the sticky/gunky bathroom door needs some attention, but otherwise, it appeared to be clean. The server was very nice though! We liked her!
In the end, we wanted Thai food, and we ate Thai food. We probably won't be back as the food was just okay, and the prices were on the...
