We just happened to Google this place as we were looking for a Mexican restaurant and it wasn't far. We got there and the atmosphere was very nice. The tables had beautiful paintings on them. The waiter brought us menus and we ordered margaritas, strawberry and a raspberry and chips and salsa. The margaritas were fabulous!!! We ordered our meal, we got street tacos. I got 2-shrimp and 2-pastor and they came with a small amount of pineapple in them which I had never had before, and it was actually very good...just the tiniest bit of sweet...there was a lot of meat in the tacos and they were the best I have had. I've had some really good street tacos from a food truck back home that I thought no one would top, but this place did. My friend had the 2-pastor and 2-steak...she raved about hers as well. We shared the 3 milk dessert cake which I have never had before and it was very good as well. I can't say enough about this place. The gentleman working stated they just opened not too long ago. If you are looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant, I would totally recommend this place. It's not too expensive. I didn't think to get a picture of the menu. I did of our meal, dessert. I hope y'all will give them a try. We definitely...

We sat at a booth the first time we went on Taco Tuesday 🌮. Jacob was great waiting on us, in the middle of the afternoon, and it was nice and quiet. I had Quesabirria Tacos (like French dip tacos!! ❤️) and he had the al pastor street tacos. They were both ah-mazing!! And of course, we had to have margaritas, and they were delicious 😋 and we stuck around a bit. So two weeks later, we said "Taco Tuesday" and he said "xaboo...??" and we both said YES! Today, we had crispy beef and crispy chicken tacos, and I had a margarita 🍹 and he had a Pacifico. We sat at the bar, which is perfect taco height! Food was flavorful and served to order, and he liked the hot salsa. The margaritas were cold and delightful. Xaboo Mephaa is sure to please. Jacob remembered us from before, was attentive just right, brought food hot, and was fun. The restaurant is clean, bright with lots of light. We have a new favorite spot!! (Just as good as the truck, but now with Margaritas 💚💚 🍹!!)

A few months later, and I am a faithful follower of Xaboo! Their daily specials are incredible. I love being able to order ala carte items as well. Not a bad item on the menu! We've tried it all!! I love the gorditas. And, don't forget a...

I never knew Mexican food could be bland and tasteless until I ate food from here. We ordered the Birria Tacos and the Shrimp Street tacos for takeout. It took forever to come out, presumably because they were taking the time to remove any semblance of spice or seasoning from the meat. The shrimp and beef were dry and unpleasant, and the consumé somehow tasted like nothing but grease. The beans and rice looked like the sludge runoff from a chemical plant, and barely tasted like anything. The menu states both items “come with radish and cucumber” which is apparently code for “one small round of cucumber and two paper thin slices of radish.” It wasn’t good, it wasn’t fast, and it wasn’t cheap, so I have no idea what the appeal of this place is supposed to be. Save your money and order from any road side taco truck instead.

Edit: After I posted this review the restaurant refunded my order, which I do appreciate. I stand by my review, but don’t wish them any ill fortune personally. Clearly many people like this place, and maybe I caught them on a bad night. I still won’t be back, but it’s worth noting they did try to make it right....

We were in Lee’s Summit so tried a New Mexican restaurant Xaboo Mephaa. It’s a small restaurant with about 12 tables. Seated promptly and drink orders were taken within minutes but we were the only customers when we arrived. My wife and I both ordered the special, three fries taco plate with beans and rice. We were served chips and salsa. When we first arrived. Things started off good because we both liked the chips and salsa, but kinda went down hill from there. The three fried tacos were very small, like appetizer size, with only beef inside. They were fried to a point that the two tablespoons of beef were burnt black. My wife said it was authentic Mexican, guess I like the American version better. The rice was just okay and the black beans, well I wasn’t a fan. To be fair my wife liked the tacos and said they had a good flavor. Be prepared they are not large, beef filled fried tacos with lettuce, onions and tomato’s like you get at Jose Peppers, Rancho Grande or El Patro. For $14, not including drinks I wasn’t impressed. $34, for the two of us, and I was still hungry when we left😏

Went on a weekday night around 6 o’clock based on a recommendation. The seating area was full, but it was pleasantly not loud. Despite their being TVs, you weren’t overstimulated by the environment, which was a fantastic change of pace. Even the position of the TVs felt intentional and while they were there, you could still focus on your dinner and guests and not what was playing on the TV. The staff really works together as a team, so we always had fresh chips and salsa and topped off waters. Being gluten-free there were plenty of options, and they were very knowledgeable (even having corn quesadillas). The chips were thin, and perfectly salted, which I like. Well, the quality is good and you’re definitely going to go home with leftovers. The pricing is also great. For example fajitas with steak and chicken and shrimp was only $18. It’s worth a visit!
