Johnny's Tavern Lee's Summit — Restaurant in Lee's Summit

We came in months ago and ate. It wasn't the greatest experience, but nothing bad happened. We got our food. It was fine. Not amazing, but fine. Your only saving grace was this experience. Because after last night we won't be back. My husband put in an order at 10:30ish. Said 15 minutes it would be ready. He goes down there to get it and it's not ready. He didn't get home until 11:30. He got a French dip and seasoned fries. No fries were in the bag. I got street tacos. The chicken had no seasoning, was burnt and cut so large I could barely eat it. Also, I love me some onion, but that's all that's on there. There's barely any cilantro or cheese. They also gave me ranch instead of the creme sauce. I was so disappointed. I'm calling in a bit to get the fries refunded. I'll let you know how it goes. I can't believe we spent $30 on this "food." Edit: just called and spoke to a manager. She said she could refund it, but its only $1.99. So instead she's sending out a gift card in the mail. I added another star for this. Righting wrongs is great customer service. And it was no questions asked. I'll update again once I receive the gift card. Update: I received the card and we took months to use it. Our waiter was very nice. He was a quiet guy, but that's okay. Everything else there is loud enough. It's a great sports bar environment. TVs everywhere. The food was really good. I'm guessing dining in is great, but order pick up is where the issues lie. I witnessed a woman setting up for a reserved party while there and the staff being extremely accommodating to her last minute changes in attendees. I went to Johnnys Tavern in Lees Summit for a birthday celebration. First off, service was top notch, the atmosphere was great. However, the food was the absolute worst. The Wilsons sauce was horrible. I had the fried pickles and jalapeño caps and shrimp tacos. I could tell the oil they fried the pickles and jalapeños in hadn’t been changed. The pickles were soggy and the jalapeños were from a jar. The shrimp tacos were weird. They of course had the Wilson’s sauce on them, which didn’t make sense to me if they were to be a “Mexican” dish. My husband had wings and a burger. You could tell immediately that the burger isn’t made fresh, because the waitress did not ask “how would you like your burger?” The wings weren’t bad, but hubby chose the Wilson’s sauce and that is by far the worst tasting sauce I have ever tried. Oh and the drinks were literal juice. We were there for a 21st birthday celebration and the cocktails were just unspeakably horrendous. How can you celebrate with weak drinks? Sorry not sorry, but to have so many locations you would think that their food and drinks would be at least be halfway decent. Also we had a party of 9 and of course they seat us in the highest traffic area. Then the they seat us at the high top tables with not even enough room for our elbows. I've always thought they had good service and good food but after today I will not return. So went in to watch MU/KU basketball game. Place was busy as expected and was told it would be an hour wait to get a table. So stood by the bar and ordered several beverages and checked with the host several times where I was told there were still people ahead of us. Finally found a seat in a corner and continued to watch the game while ordering additional beverage (had to order from the bar watch time as no waitress ever asked if we needed anything). So THREE HOURS later the game was finally over, never having got a table. Not a problem, it was full. I was actually going to stay and order food until I checked with the host who checked their list for tables and they asked for our name. As they and I looked at the list, I realized that we had been skipped over more than an hour ago! They said it was because of a shift change. THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN!! All the manager could say was that it was busy and she was sorry. We understood that it was busy and we're willing to wait but being skipped over is something that just shouldn't happen!
