Today I visited the Lee Summit location, this just happens to be one of my husbands and I favorite date night spots. My favorite thing here is the collard greens, I have always felt they are the best you can buy outside your home. I placed a order on Dec 29th today and something has changed they taste really bad , its either a different cook or different receipt either way I will never order again. I didn't give them one star due to the greens it was due to the customer service I received today. I walked in today on my phone talking and stood at the counter waiting for assistance, about three servers walked pass me, I didn't get a Hello, one moment, or someone will be right up, not nothing a few seconds later a man walk in on his phone and sat down and waited on a host. Finally the host made his way up to the counter didn't even acknowledge me, began speaking to the man behind me asking for a name for his to go order , when asked why I wasn't even addressed he said you were on the phone but the men behind me was on the phone as well. I said okay and asked a waitress to grab the manager. The manager came over, I was sitting on the bench now waiting on her, so I asked her to have a sit so I could explain to her the situation she refused and stood over me while I was explaining my experience and stated okay took my debit card and proceeded to go to the back and grab my order. She checked me out as normal and stated I threw in a dessert for your inconvenience as if some food was the fix, I don't even eat oatmeal cookies you could tell she could care less just wanted me to leave asap. Read moreOne of my favorite brunch spots in KCMO. I LOVE their shrimp and grits & blackened shrimp tacos. I typically get that every time I go , which is pretty often. I’ve also tasted their chicken wings, social burgers / fries and other items and are all very good as well. My problem actually comes from my two favorites , the grits and tacos which is disappointing. They are never consistent with how it tastes. I notice in the morning it tastes delicious and is VERY flavorful. Towards early afternoon ( 2:30pm ) is when I went yesterday , that it tastes so bland and is even missing some ingredients that are usually there in the morning. I’m not sure the type of meat they put in it, maybe sausage? Whatever it is , is NEVER there in the afternoon. On top of that it just tastes so bland. Also have to use a few times where shrimp is a little undercooked. Being that shrimp only takes about 2 mins to make is crazy for it to be undercooked in any way. Shrimp is a very good size and tastes great when thoroughly cooked though. Lastly, I don’t appreciate how when you ask for utensils, and the servers, place the utensils directly on the table. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I do not want to eat off of utensils that have touched the bare tables. Also, when I was being seated, the lady placed my menu right on top of the utensils, I originally had on the table, which is also gross, considering how many people touch the menus. Read moreThis was a great place, however I recommend that you don’t try to go without a reservation. When we got there we were told 30-35 min wait so we got on the list. We were told the bar was open seating but it was full so we stood on that side waiting for a table to open. Every time a table would open the staff would put a reserved sign on it so we couldn’t have it. This was frustrating because our 30 min wait was now over an hour. I went back to the front desk to see where we were. She said I was the second next table and would be about 10 min. So after another 15 min I went back up and now they told me I am 3rd on the list and would be about 20 min. At this point I had to say something. I’ve now been waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes when I was told 30. I would have gone somewhere else if I knew it was going to be that long. I told them there is a table on the bar side that is open and had a reserved sign on it and I’m going to sit there. I’d had it with the run around at this point and they allowed me to FINALLY have the table. If I never said anything who knows how long I would have waited. I was frustrated however DeAnna took amazing care of us and made up for all the frustration. The place was packed but DeAnna handled it great and was able to keep the drinks coming and the food was amazing.
