Howdy!

I decided to take my family out on a Friday evening for dinner and some beers n’ games. We decided on HopLore because they’ve had it before and had some awesome things to say. From the get-go, we were let down. On one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year, they were out of some of the beers we wanted. That’s fine, it happens! After we ordered our food, we sat and played some games. After about 30min, a server approached us with some food that we didn’t order, brut insisted that we did. This happened 3 more times. Nobody originally got anything close to what we ordered. After a combined 50 minutes, everyone had what they had ordered. What we didn’t expect was the mediocre food. We ordered 2 quesadillas, a burrito, a wrap, a sandwich, and an order of the smoked Gouda Mac n cheese. All of the meats in or on the other entree’s were allegedly smoked, however all of them were dry with zero smoke flavor. The chicken was comparable to saw dust, and the brisket was like jerky. The most disappointed we were was with the smoked Gouda Mac n cheese! It was not Gouda, nor was it smoked. It was box pasta noodles that were mixed with Alfredo sauce. The quesadillas were cold and stiff, the sandwhichss were soggy, none of it was really amazing, and only some of it was palatable. Thoroughly disappointed. I’ll continue drinking their beer, but only at the Fort Wayne establishments that can provide the excellent service as well as the food that comes along with...

Drove 40 minutes and we are very disappointed The Demogorgon sandwich looked absolutely delicious on Facebook and when they brought it to me, but it was terrible brisket was dry very dry and not a smoked flavor at all, I really needed an egg on top but was afraid to ask for egg as everything came as is. Not to mention I could only get the 2 sides they allowed 2 little tiny potatoes roasted and a very very small salad in a little cup. Not a waitress or waiter in sight so I couldn't ask for any sauce to apply to the sandwich. My wife ordered the tacos and those looked good too but was awful wife said the tortillas (soft tortillas)were already broken so when she picked them up the inside of the taco fell right out of them she was very disappointed as well. Mind you we don't drink so we came here for the food and will never ever return. Looks are deceiving just remember that when...

Stopped in for the first time on Saturday evening on a return trip from the Purdue game. The place seems to be still trying to figure a lot of the service side out. It was a beer festival set up of sorts on this particular Saturday in which tickets were required to purchase the brew that was being served. The bar was desperately understaffed and the two servers that were there offered little to no guidance through the available beers. Oddly the beers were served in plastic cups...half full??? When I asked what that was about the server said they ran out of the right cups? So yeah...it was a weird experience and honestly had a very unfriendly vibe to it. The beer was decent but overall a very chaotic and unorganized establishment. I'll give them a few more months to get staffing and service figured out before I give them...

My first visit to Hop Lore did not disappoint! The brisket nachos were amazing. The only thing lacking was my ability to consume them in a timely manner. My husband ordered the brisket burrito, which included Mac & cheese in the roll - the quintessential burger n comfort food! The Cinnamon Sanctions was a pleasant surprise. (So often stouts land flat, but this did not!) The smoothie sours are on par with Drekker. IYKYK. We finished out with a Tiramisu that was perfect-all day he sweetness cut with a generous sprinkle of cocoa. It’s not fancy. The limited number of TV screens keeps the atmosphere on the quiet side. The collection of board games speaks “Stay awhile longer.” If you’re looking for good food, great beer, and a place to feel welcome for a bit, check out Hop Lore!!!

I stopped by HopLore on my way through the Indiana countryside, and it made a good stop. I got a snack and a flight of beers, and I got to watch some movies while enjoying them. The staff was friendly enough, and it was a fairly quiet time. The smoothie sour beers were amazing, and hardly present as beers. Continental Split was probably my favorite, but the mango lassi sour was also excellent. I tried their fish dip as a snack, and it was tasty. Everything was just as I would’ve hoped for, and I wouldn’t hesitate to drop by again.

Always Excellent food and service! And they knock it out of the park with new one-off specials nearly every week, usually releasing on Thursday nights...which leads me to: Thursday night Trivia nights (7-9pm) are a blast, and the secret is getting out, so be sure to get there early for a good seat, and to get your food ordered before the contest starts!
