We recently held my Father's funeral luncheon here and I must say what a DISAPPOINTMENT. At first we guessed a high number and after thinking about it we lowered the number of people. The night of the viewing, the funeral director called and tried to lower that number by 10. He was told, "it's to late the food was already prepared" (really? you already made the food? Have you ever heard of serv-safe? You and your staff may want to take a class). Once we arrived the chef said to me "boy talk about a miscount, the number is what it is as I already made the food last night (again really??). He then said when you're ready to eat let me know and we will uncover the food. I went to look for him to tell him we were ready and he was no where to be found, I had to uncover the food myself. We had the stuffed chicken breast, which was okay; we also had beef tips which I should have given to him to try to eat as they were so tough; then there was dessert which was a FROZEN crumb cake (still frozen). As far as service goes, you had one server to tend to the bar and our party, poor. If you prepared the food ahead of time you could have been prepared with an additional server (you know, just think ahead). You should be ashamed of yourselves!! I and my husband have both worked in the food industry for years so please don't tell me this is how it is done!!! I know you will delete this post but you can not stop word of mouth as it is a powerful tool!! I will never recommend your place of...
Read moreFirst time for me stopping here. I like that this place close to many long distance hiking/biking trails. Came in hankering for a good burger w fries. Found them having a rather wide selection, to choose from. Also craved a Heineken. Charming, friendly, helpful wait staff. Beer arrived perfectly chilled; not, too cold. Next, my dinner arrived, beautiful as ever.... n just as exciting on da pallette. Yumm. yumm.. yumm! Apparently, I was their first n only customer, for my time there. Peaceful can be a complementary embelishment to a long, busy day. Waitress inquired as to my satisfaction.... I had to confess, this dinner was so perfectly satisfactory, that I challenge chef to produce yet another, just like the first! Well, he sure did. And, me got another delightful Heineken to enjoy as much as the first. Sadly, I had to request my doggie bag, as it wouldn't all fit in my belly. I like this place, but I can't see em surviving on just one customer, getting treated almost like a king. But, that's the wonderment of a tiny, country restaurant.... ....wondering if I should offer my ultimate BEST recipe for collard greens, to this chef¿? But, then who likes waiting in line, to get...
Read moreThe food was ok but nothing to write home about. We sat in the bar area. We had a party of six. The service was extremely slow. Our order included fish sandwich, crab cake sandwich, Burger, chicken sandwich, boneless wings, and bone-in wings. I ordered the Buffalo cheddar bacon burger, and was disappointed that the sandwich came out with Wiz, instead of sliced cheddar cheese: the item description didnt mention that they use Wiz instead of actual cheddar cheese. I asked our waiter for a new bun, because the sandwich was too sloppy to eat, and to minimize the amount of Wiz I had to deal with. Even getting the replacement bun took awhile, because the cook grilled the bun before it was brought out. The homemade chips were tasty, but we're dusted with some kind of spicy seasoning, which was a little much. Also, the french fries were Bland and undercooked. The slow service was not due to being busy colon there were two other tables in the bar area, and two or three tables in the dining room area. I had high hopes for this out of the way establishment, which...
