Smoke On The Water BBQ — Restaurant in Leighton Township

First off this is more of a grab n go than a sit down bbq place. It's located inside the Green Lake One Stop Gas Station with an ordering window on the outside. They have a limited menu and close when they sell out.

I over ordered due to curiosity. I ordered a pulled pork sandwiches with smoked beans and mac n cheese. Then I ordered 3 rib bones with the same sides. Lastly I ordered the special of the day which was a smoked sloppy joe. I need to start with everything was good, well above average. The thing is nothing would fall into my Top 3. The pulled pork was best it was perfectly cooked and very tender, it may very well fall into my 4th favorite in the Grand Rapids area. The ribs were good. Great char and smoke ring, with a good spice. Tender. However for some reason I like them, I just don't love them. The smoked sloppy joes were good, just nothing special. I liked the beans they may have been my 2nd favorite item. The mac n cheese was my least favorite, however I am extremely picky about mac n cheese. The finger lickin sauce was very ehhh and very thin. A better sauce might help. The meat was all well cooked and tender. So bravo to smokemaster.

The service was good and very friendly.

Overall a I'd give them 3.9 stars. Lol so we'll say 4. Would I return? If I was in the area...

I stopped in today for lunch. I got the Brisket sandwich meal. It came with 2 sides so I got the smoked mac & cheese and the house slaw all for only $13. I also got their green log (smoked jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese and a slice of brisket) for $5 (sounds like a lot but it was a big jalapeno, I'd pay more for it) you have a lot of food for the cost and it was by far the best bbq joint I've had. I highly reccomend trying them even if you live an hour away. It's well worth the drive. The smoked mac & cheese was perfectly seasoned and cheesey and the house slaw wasn't dry or too wet and it was seasoned...

If you want the most amazing Broccoli Salad, Mac and cheese, wings (so many sauces to choose from!), pulled pork, ribs - this is the place for you.

Matt and Anna are the sweetest, most authentic, hard workers, you can imagine. Their daughter is also sweet as can be (as a regular, you get to know the family and they get to know you, too).
