We happened upon this amazing seafood gem after visiting my sister in law in the hospital. Let’s just say we will be back! The atmosphere has definite southern Maryland charm, very clean and the service is excellent! All of us had different appetizers and entrees, and we were each exclaiming how delicious everything tasted. I enjoyed cream of crab soup, fresh local oysters on the half shell, delicious fried catfish with cajun seasoning, and a perfectly backed potato with butter and sour cream. Our server, Nicky, was beautiful inside and out, shared the restaurant’s history with us, answered a myriad of questions, was super polite, professional and personable. My husband and his sister, who are our family’s expert fried oyster chefs, remarked over and over about the quality and perfection of the fried oysters. My brother in law loved his crab stuffed shrimp, and our niece visiting from California, satisfied her seafood craving with perfectly grilled crab cakes. We enjoyed onion rings, coleslaw, sweet potato wedges and green beans, and all were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. There is so much more on the menu including hard and soft shell crabs, mussels, snow crab legs, grouper, flounder, and no. Seafood items and dessert. Thank you Captain Leonard’s for a delightfully tasty and memorable experience! We...
Read moreMy family loves this place and has been going here for years. I was visiting from Savannah,GA, and we had 10 or more of us dine on Wednesday evening.
The fresh, local seafood here is outstanding. My cousin got Blue crabs, which she said were delicious. My aunts and uncles had various dishes like stuffed shrimp, fried shrimp, and steamed. My other cousins, who are children, loved their food as well, especially the French fries. I had the broiled crab cake, which didn't disappoint & 1/2 lb medium-sized steamed shrimp.
Our server was so polite and calm, as well as organized. My uncle told me she used to work at Bert's. The kids liked her too. Usually, when you go with a large group to dine out, there's always one who isn't happy. I can honestly tell you all of us left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.
My Dad, George B.Quade, used to dine here a lot, and I'm thankful we could celebrate his life and honor him on an early Father's Day with our family. Please thank the server that helped us in the back area Wednesday evening. She truly was amazing, and the whole staff that pitched in when it got...
Read moreThe crab dip on the crab pretzel was WELL above average. I've never had such a bad pretzel - it was thick and nearly rubber. Really ruined it, what a shame.
The oysters in the oyster dinner were fried, although not specified on the menu. Disappointing - really wanted them in the shell. Despite that, there were a lot of them and they were fried very well.
The fries were straight up freezer fries. Disgusting. Why this was the case when they clearly have such a great fryer I have no idea. The cajun seasoning that was extra charge tasted like it was based off of Old Bay and lemon zest. Too much lemon zest. Weird cajun seasoning, weird extra charge, I've made better at home.
The side salad was great! Large for a side and nicely done.
Overall, this place leaves me confused. After the rubber pretzel, freezer fries, and fried oysters, I feel like a fried oyster. In no way worth $50.
They have some remarkable things like the crab dishes and fried seafood, but when you add anything else it gets complicated fast.
Good service. Good atmosphere. A little disappointed they furnished no crayons to draw on...
