Allen's Eatery — Restaurant in Lewisberry

All I wanted was a grilled chicken parm sub. The girl at the counter said sure, there will just be an up charge since I didn't want breaded chicken patties with sub roll. Thats dble the carbs. I'm diabetic, so watching carbs has become a lifestyle of necessity. I guess he was the owner, but guy in the back butted in and said they couldn't do that. He said I could get a grilled chicken sandwich instead. Hmm, I thought it was order what you want there, not what they want to serve you. So I simply said okay, and walked out the door.

Makes me mad cause I was hungry and tired and I've been doing well lately and really taking care of the wait staff wherever I ate and now this poor girl lost a good tipping customer cause her greedy boss wanted to sell me his cheap over-processed breaded chicken patties on a roll to boot. I did explain I was diabetic and trying to curb the carbs but that meant nothing to him, so I will NEVER stop in again They also had very watered down soap in the rest room. Took awhile to get my hard-working, money making hands latherd-up and clean. When these restaurants are pinching pennies with no or bad soap, no hot water, or no paper towels....RUN! Imagine what you can't see they are...

I called in an order with your pizzeria tonight (05/15/2023). To say I was surprised is an understatement. I placed my order based on your website pricing which shows:

Sub-Total $44.33 / $61.45 Total $50-52 / $70.86

I also advised the person who took my order that i would give the driver a tip in cash as i paid for my order with cc, however when the delivery driver brought my order, he handed my daughter the food and as she turned around to put the food down and grab his tip he took off and left before we could give it to him.  This is a shame what businesses are coming to. To steal your customers by charging different prices. Then you have listed on your website. It's sad cause your food is good and I'd order from you again, however due to this practice, I will never order from you again.

Good food. Never had anything here that I didn't like. We always order from their "specials" menu. This place is a local pizza & sub shop that does a great job at conveying that atmosphere. There are some things on the menu that I personally do like a lot more than others. It really comes down to a matter of personal preference. The subs that I have ordered never had an abundance of meat, but that leaves room for toppings in my opinion. These guys don't just make you a generic sub with all the toppings they assume you want. Instead, they leave that up to the customer & that is something you just have to be clear about when ordering. The key is to be specific when ordering. Tell them what you want & how you want it & they will do it right. Some other things about this place: Bread is toasted & has a great taste. They do charge a small amount for refills.
